Love it ! Best upgrade for my sound system by far :D

Yes you can change things in settings.

Not sure on apps for mpg , I just look at the hud for that.

Awesome, thanks for the quick update. Probably going to order this tonight. The reason I ask about the mpg is because I have the Sr and it's not in the HUD.

For all those who installed these new head units here, will you be able to use the vehicle specific buttons with your units?
For instance the steering wheel has the volume up and down, Mode to change the modes, Change channel, Answer/Cancel the phone calls. The button to press to talk for voice commands etc?

Also, when you put the truck in reverse, the reverse camera view comes on the screen, and minor things like change the delay for the head lights, etc?
I would like to upgrade too, but I want to keep using all the buttons and features the truck comes wired to the head units.

Take my answer with a grain of salt because I don't have anything yet, but from research so far, if you get the correct installation gear, which crutchfield provides a extra cost, then all the factory stuff can be used.

Yes to all the above and I can click the camera button on headunit while driving forward and see the rear view camera.

I really like the CarPlay a lot and use the Apple Maps. If you use Google Maps or Waze it won't work with CarPlay. CarPlay has limited list of apps you can use unless you jailbreak your phone. From my understanding there is a jailbreak app that will allow to enable any app on CarPlay. You can set any factory setting like before.

How does that android head unit fit in the dash, looks like it take up the entire space of the factory head unit. i like that better then putting a bezel peice to convert it to double din. It does seem like your head unit sticks out a fair bit though , or does that just look like that from the pictures?

Doesn’t seem it’ll show mpg like the hud but there is a few things like:C4CEF264-E176-4171-B64B-F623D88C31A8.jpg

Oh you're fine. This is all helpful, cant ask for more then that.

Hmm copy that, so with the Android app thing I could probably get my own though?

I forgot to ask did you install it yourself. I've done quite a few system installs but this has a few other things to it I've never done. Just wondering how easy it is?

I had a shop do mine as it’s my daily driver and I have 2 amps,2x10’s etc.. so I chose to let the young guys do it lol. Seems pretty straight forward. You do have to program the maestro via a pc for your truck btw. Which may have more options to add to your hu.

Kenwood DNX-573s, installed it myself, got everything from Crutchfeild. You do have to hook the mastreo to a PC and then go to their site and answer a few questions about the vehicle and head unit and then it programs the mastreo. It can still change vehicle settings. I did have to install the mic it came with. Really wasn’t any harder than others I’ve done just a bit more time consuming with the mastreo and such. I didn’t want the Sirius/xm so idk about that part.

Has anyone done this with a JBL unit? I really want CarPlay but I haven't seen anyone replace the JBL entune.

Anyone who has installed a aftermarket radio/HU in their 16/17 and has the OEM one left over -the one with the NAV built in -not the one that comes standard with the SR5--I have that one. PM me if you want to sell

I am very interested to hear how the install went. I really like the look of your head unit and would definitely buy one myself if I knew more. What are the pros and cons? Does the back up camera work, and radio, and everything else? Please post some info! :)

Jaypet--With the Sonic USA, does the screen transmit the touch selections or do you have to make selections on the phone itself?
