Here are a few pics that I have. The amp you see is for my door speakers that I have replaced with 6.5" Orion components. There is also a 2.5 Farad Cap thats you can see as well. The amp for my subs is under the driver seat. I have since then cut the plastic that I took out and put it around the exposed wall. And I have re-wired everything for a much cleaner install.

I did a jlaudio 13 in tw5 and love it its a shallow sub and imo sounds much better than the pioneers,I built a custom fiber glass box for it and put my amps next to it ,but a simpler box would work.I willtry to post some pics here in a bit good luck

i noticed some of you have removed the plastic from the back of the rear seat, is this necessary? Does it rattle or something?

I really like the way that was installed. I am very impressed with the way most of the plastic was preserved. Does it rattle like that? Also, did someone have to cut the plastic where it had the flashlight holder and all that extra stuff? Thanks for posting that pic, I may use that when I take my truck to the shops to see if they could do something similar! :D

That looks good too, it is kinda hard to see the pic but it looks like a clean install! Nice! Love the JL :)

Yeah, I think I am going to try to save for a bit so that way I don't waste my money on something that will sound like crap. The thing with me is once I get a system I think it sounds great for about 2 months, then it sounds "ok" then about 2-3 months later I am ready for more again... Maybe I need to go to meetings for my addiction! LOL

No rattles at all^^ I used a saw to cut the bottom part out and flash light holder.

I would get in touch with mr marv on his subforum. just recieved my box and amp rack, using a single Image Dynamics IDQ10. He has top notch work (he's a cabinet maker by trade) and has been around the tacoma to tell what will and will not work.

Cool, Ill have to mention that when I take it in. I would not think it would be a good idea for me to use a saw to do it myself, that would not end up well. :boom:

I would say your back middle seat if your willing to give it up. You gotta have fun with your truck and keep it for a long time. Do mods as soon as you can and improve the audio anyway and as soon as you can :)

hey i was just gonna let you know i put 2 diamond d3 10's behind my seat.. i NEVER thought they would fit but my buddy owns a audio shop and he custom fabbed me up a box with some real damn good depth. lol. the subs fit awesome but i did have to remove the plastic. no biggy tho it jus bolts back in if u get tired of them. as for the head unit i got a pioneer unit with the ipod interface and i will NEVER have anything else. ive owned 3 different tacomas all with pioneer units and they put out great sound and never mess up. i did however find out the hard way that i had to remove the flat plastic on the back of the seats. the d3s flex so much they were makin all kinda racket up against the plastic. but those panels come off easy to if you do have to go that route. enjoy the truck tho.... mod away.....most of the shit u can put back if it dont go right for ya!
