I put an aftermarket reservoir and pump combo on my 2002 prerunner and it works great. When I got the truck the low washer fluid level was on , after I changed everything the light is still on. I do not understand where the sensor foe the fluid level is.

See the second pic in post #2 - the sensor is in the bottom hole secured by a rubber grommet.

I'm sorry I missed that in the other comments, I thought that was like a heater for the cold weather package hahaha.

Cold weather package also included a beefier wiper motor (to help push snow/ice/etc)

PN 85110-04020 (the non cold weather motor is 85110-04010)

If by "it" you mean the fluid level sensor, yes that is correct. The other thing above it is the actual washer pump. Many A.M. reservoirs come with a new pump, see previous posts (mine did.)

For what truck? Your profile says 2002 double cab but that part is for a 1995. Mine is an MT Extracab and not familiar with the double cab but think they are the same. If it's for your 2002 I doubt that's the one. You can pull the tire and washer guard to check it. See the pics earlier in this thread, and yes, the only reason I had to change out mine is the neck. Which is not sold separately, on OEM it doesn't separate. On these aftermarket ones they separate but still not sold separately. :-\ OEM's don't come with a cap, aftermarket ones usually do.

Here's the ones for a 2002 3.4L. Be very sure if it's got a fluid level sensor or not, see the posts on page 1. Saw a guy who bought the wrong one and plugged it with a bathtub plug LOL.

I also got the RockAuto one. Installed a few months ago and haven’t had any problems.
Installation was a bit more involved than anticipated, and would have been easier if I had taken the wheel off for more working space.

Yeah I need to update my profile. I have a 95 3.4 MT Extra cab now.
So basically the rock auto ones are no good since they dont come with the neck. Do you know of any other decent aftermarket ones that include the neck? I couldn't find any with reviews.

Did you look at the one on your truck and compare? Does it look like it? Share a pic of the top end with us, Rock Auto is usually pretty spot on with their items, it may be the right one, it's just not the one for a 2002.

I just did some searching, I'm amazed at how many ones are out there for the 1995 with no fill neck. There's one on parts geek but their site is so hosed up you can't view details on it, no matter, no one's going to pay almost $150 for it, that's nuts. Here's one on a sample Toyota site for $114, still nuts, you'd expect to pay $25-$40 tops.

    https://oemparts.stonemttoyota.com/p/Toyota__Tacoma/Washer-Fluid-Reservoir/48927893/8531504060.html

I guess what you should do (what I did) is take off the tire and washer guard, pull it out and get a good look and pics of it to compare with what you're considering buying, and keep looking. It's an under hour job and only a few bolts. The one on the Toyota site sure looks a lot like the one in this thread, maybe a later one will fit but I can't say. Again, make sure whether you need the fill sensor hole or not.

BTW duct tape will get you by for the top hole, it's what I did until I sorted it out. :-D

@rocknbil. Did you find that filler neck support part? Wonder if that is a fourRunner thing as i did not see it in the Tacoma parts list.

    upload_2024-10-28_7-23-52.png

    Follow-up. Part located from a 2001 era 4Runner.

Part number 85361-35060. Called "Washer Bracket #1"

Unclear if it fits Tacoma's but i know my 04 has the clip attachment square in the front radiator upper cross member.

$3.85 from Toyota or $30 on Ebay.
