    Hello all
Where does my 2017 OR suck air in? Not planning to cross rivers etc.
My Dad noticed 2019 Tacos with "desert air intake"/snorkel and asked me where my air intake/height is.

Stock. See your passenger side front quarter panel. Above the wheel.

P.S. if you are worried about water see “rear diff breather mod”.

towards the front of the right front fender, right above the plastic fender liner.
My rule of thumb is water depth to not go over top of tire. And, go SLOW.

I hopped under my truck right after I got it to install some steps. The amount of wiring under the truck is staggering. I imagine it'll be pretty expensive to go through water crossings in these trucks.

The hard limit is pretty much the alternator. No power = no go.

The limiting factor in these trucks is the location of the ECUs and alternator as others have pointed out. If water starts coming in your cab you are going to have future issues.

The wiring harnesses under the truck are waterproof and as long as your not one of those idiots who drives through the ocean, you’ll be fine after fording streams that don’t go deeper than your door seals.

I’ve never found this spec for a Taco, but as you can see, adding a snorkel does not change the recommended fording depth on an Isuzu D-max, because the intake height is not the problem. It’s other stuff under the hood:

Thanks all. While out and about we cam across several flooded rivers a week ago. Very rare flash flooding 5 days prior.
