I realized that I'd have to also deal with the intercooler overflow reservoir (aka a Nalgene bottle) and the straps that attach it to the side of the airbox (aka some Voile straps and rivets), so I went ahead with the Uphillshunter method and just replaced the deckplate assembly.

    ----

    Title says it all.

I need a stock 5VZ airbox (aka "Air Cleaner Box") that hasn't had the deckplate mod done to it (i.e. intact). Mine has the mod done by the previous owner and did not come with a plate.

I installed a dorkel this week so I'm just replacing the whole box with a fresh one. Yes, aftermarket ones are available from Low Range for $68 + ship, but I'm just seeing if anyone can beat that with a used OEM unit first.

PM or post asking price + shipping to 05445. Will use PayPal for funds transfer.

    Thanks!

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Why not just screw the lid on the deck plate, and be done with it?

    That's what I did

Totally get it. I thought about it.

But doesn't that somewhat defeat the secondary purpose of the dorkel by not sealing the intake completely? (Because we all know that the primary reason is because we like how they look...)

At any rate, it's worth something to me to have an intact one at this point. But I also see your point too.

The deck plate should seal completely. There's a rubber oring in it. In your case, you didn't install the deck plate so if it were me, I'd re-seal around it with silicone. But the deck plate/lid is every bit as sealed as the air box.

I may have my original airbox I need to check my shop, but I'm in Canada so not sure on shipping cost.

I found my original air box no deckplate mod; however the top hose connector is damaged, I believe all you need is the bottom half of the airbox anyways. I will sell it for $30 USD + shipping
