    YOu can get a pre filter that fits at the top of the snorkel. Its for dust but I'm sure it will work well with snow too

    Glad to see a company finally make a specific model for our trucks!

    I never had any major issues (one night drunk I did some "off" drilling of a fender but we won't talk about that one). I have installed around 9 or 10 Safari snorkels at this point. The templates from Kurt are a little off, but no biggie after you do a couple :D

    Some bending of the fender and some minor trimming is all that I ever needed to do.

    Nope. Pretty much the same. Safari is not meant to be run backwards at speed either and you also aren't supposed to put fish bowls on them and run over a certain speed either. ARB/Safari has numerous warnings about this all over the web.

    Light powdered snow is one way to put a stop to driving fast with a snorkel immediately.

    If your air filter is getting wet from rain (not powder) with a snorkel something is seriously wrong.

    Not good. Light snow will suck into the air filter. I would turn it backwards and keep your speed down.

    Also turn them backwards on tight trails that have snow on the branches.

    I have seen many people "modify" the safari snorkels. Taking an engineered product and modifying it is a huge no no to me. Leave that up to the engineers.

    I know this is a different model but many of the same criteria regarding snow, NOT going through automated car wash's, mpg gains, turning the heads backwards, and other issues/benefits can be found in the 38 pages here

    All great info in there! Thanks skip! I shy away from shortening these as well, my thinking is, this is the way it was designed and TESTED, therefor I may as well rule out any of those test results by modifying it.

    You can see here I don't use the a pillar attachment. It doesn't move around or rub. I have taken some big sticks into the hat and body of the snorkel, and it hasn't broken. I also cut the upper part of the snorkel, and the hat, so it sits lower.
