I ran the diagnostics on my tacoma and came up with a "bad" air intake temp sensor. I cannot locate the sensore for the life of me. I currently have a K&N intake on my truck. The only electrical running to the air intake is the 5 prong MAF sensor. Is the AIT sensor part of the MAF sensor or is it seperate. There is another 2 prong sensor comming off of the same group of wires as the MAF but the it has a sensor plugged into that seems to do nothing but hang there and the AIT sensor will not fit into the reciever.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Welcome to TW! IIRC, The Iat sensor is part of the MAF.

How about some clues as to which year Taco and which engine you have ...

    It makes a difference.

Ive got a 03 Pre Runner w/V6 & AT. On way home Friday, my CEL came on. I disc neg cable to reset light. Next morning went for a short drive and truck drove like shit (I also have K&N, FIPK intake) Ive recently replaced fuel filter, cleaned TB. Anyway, today, I pulled MAF sensor, cleaned w/CRC electronic cleaner and reinstalled. Truck runs great. I never got a chance to pull the codes that set the CEL light on, but I had a feeling the K&N might have something to do with it. I post up again if it throws a CEL again. If it does, Ill pull the codes and see. For now, MUCH better. BTW, truck just turned 86K

Yep!^^^ The K&N oil filters are known to do this. They dont filter very well, after the oil gets saturated with dirt. So your TB and MAF get dirty quick. I checked mine 3-4 months after cleaning it, and it had crud on it.
Clean your MAF and disconect your neg. battery cable for a little while, see If that helps. Dont forget to do your Throttle Body too.
OH! And Welcome to the World of TW. :)

hey guys thanks for the welcomes. My yota is a 98 4x4 TRD, 2.7, just turned 155k.

I'm going to give cleaning the MAF a try before springing the 100.00 for one. Thanks for the help. Much appriciated.
