A beautiful Voodoo Blue 2019 getting a TSB update and the Kruiser 4.0 Tune. This truck had a K&N Intake which fortunately keeps the MAF sensor in the stock location.

Keeping the MAF in the stock location maintains the factory MAF calibration and volumetric efficiency in the engine.

Be careful when changing inflow and outflow (Intake or Exhaust) of the factory engine as this can lead to a lean condition placing the truck close or over its knock threshold. This is why it's so important to get a good test drive and monitor appropriate PID's to verify proper function after tuning or calibration.

The client was very pleased with the results !

    Cheers,

    John

I had my truck tuned a few days ago by John.
I was very pleased with the whole process. He answered any questions I had about the tune and explained everything on what he was going to do to load everything up.
I signed all the paperwork which is nice so its a documented procedure not like a meet someone they plug in and pay and go.
Once he started it was really nice to see someone use a nice soft microfiber draped over my front end when he hooked up the battery tender while he was checking for any ECU updates needed. I am very anal about my paint so that was a huge bonus in my book.

Once all the ECU checks were done he flashed my truck which only took a few mins and we then took a ride. John monitored all my truck params to make sure the tune was working well with my truck and not just giving me a tune and thats it and hope it plays nice with my truck.

All and all it was a nice quick flash and the extra care done to the truck for the prep work and the ride after to make sure everything is good to go is what takes it a step up compared to how other tunes I have done on past cars I have owned.

    KDMAX 6.0 tune
I had KDMAX 6.0 tune, 87 Octane with light throttle tip in installed on my 2020 Tacoma Sport DBL Cab on Friday by John aka @Boltripper . John was super accessible and willing to talk about various tunes and what each offers before I committed. He's actually installed the tunes on his personal Tacoma, so he was able to give valuable feedback and recommendations based on his personal experiences. I'm very glad I took John's advice because I am very happy with the tune so far (still trying to get some miles in).

I Met John at his house, which actually made me feel more comfortable about the whole process. John again took the time to talk about the various tunes available. John was very meticulous during the actual tuning process. He performed the tune following a detailed check list and documented every step of the process. He connected a backup battery to ensure there were no problems due to low voltage during the process. He verified I had the latest TSB installed before proceeding with the tune. After the tune was installed, he asked me to drive the truck to verify that I was happy with the tune (I will give a detailed review of the tune when I get a few more miles on it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/disappointed-in-new-tacoma-ovtune-help.714757/. Just let me say that I immediately felt a big improvement. John rode along and monitored the data stream to ensure all parameters were within the normal range during the test drive. With all this said, John made me comfortable with a process that I have never performed on any of my vehicles. He is detail oriented and very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John to anyone wanting to install a tune on their Tacoma!

BTW, I live in Huntsville, AL area. I drove to Birmingham to have the tune installed by John.

Recent 2016 SR5 owner but long time Toyota owner. I'm coming from an '07 4Runner which I've loved to the Tacoma in November. I disliked the way the Tacoma drove and shifted from day one. Found out about performance tuning and John from the forum here. I had taken the truck to a Toyota dealer who had installed the latest TSB. And while that improved it somewhat it was still less than I desired. Contacted John and drove over from Mississippi. Very professional, attention to detail. I was going to get the Kruiser 4.0 but after talking to John and reading about the KDMax 6.0 I went with that. Glad I did! I think perhaps the Kruiser 4.0 would have gotten me back to the way my 4Runner drove, I believe the KDMax exceeds it. My truck is so responsive and quick now. Hills are no problem, shifting is smooth and seems "right". The cruise control is much, much better. Before I couldn't use resume or the truck would drop to 4th gear unless I was at or near the set speed. I live in a valley and when I pull out of my driveway I go up a pretty steep incline. Before my truck would just crawl up it. Now it Hardly notices there a hill there. Very happy with the tune so far. Very happy with John installing it. Highly recommended!

Just completed over 1800 miles on the new KDMax 6.0 Performance Tune.. Trip was from Alabama through West Virginia doing some great camping then to Pittsburgh for a family visit and back. This is a heavy, heavy truck and the tune was amazing.. Highway, Backroads and Fire Roads with no issues.

If you are interested in the new Tune or just have questions about tuning for your Tacoma, hit me up and lets chat~

Another MGM Taco in for an Updated TSB and the new KDMax 6.0

Its hard to describe the look on their faces during the test drive. Its satisfying to see people getting excited to drive their Tacoma again.

Super clean 2016 that already had the TSB Update from Toyota, but he soon realized that he wanted more.

We discussed driving style and what he wanted out of his Taco and he decided on the KDMax 6.0 Performance Tune. Even though he had the TSB already done, we still used Best Practices in flashing the KDMax to ensure a trouble free flash. Provided a through test drive monitoring all parameters and the client was stoked!!!

Had several trucks on Saturday and this was another sharp Super White 2017 SR5 that was in for the TSB Upgrade and KDMax 6.0 Performance Tune.

The client complained of lack of power/torque and horrid highway shifting. All these issues and more were resolved with the KDMax tune. The client was thrilled with the results.

Had a 2018 AT in for a TSB Update and the KDMax 6.0 Performance Tune.

The client runs a 700hp Supercharged Mustang as his weekend car and needed something done with the Tacoma. I was pleased to see his reaction on the test drive and the texts after telling me how great the truck was running really made the day.

Returning customer today with a 2021 Tacoma to get upgraded to the KDMax 6.0 Performance Tune.

The client was skeptical that we could make the truck shift better than the previous tune, but was immediately pleased with the results.

He said that anyone on the fence with a 2021 should know that there is so much more driveability you can get with a proper calibration.

First off let me say I do not give reviews very often and only when I am more than just satisfied with a product or a service. John is amazing, he really goes above and beyond with his customers to explain what you’re getting with your tune. From the very first time I reached out to John he took a ton of time to make sure he answered my questions (even my dumb questions) with a lot of detail in a way that I could understand. I can’t understate how John helped me feel at ease with the process. I received the KDMAX 6.0 92 Octane and WOW, What a difference! The truck is amazing on the highway and seems so much more responsive and the over-all flow\feel of the truck is perfect. I know my HP only went up around 25hp, but it feels like a lot more.

John was extremely professional and is a treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to re-gearing, cold-air intakes, exhausts etc. He also has reached out since to check on everything. I am looking forward to taking out my camper this week for a 200 mile round trip to see how the changes will help.

Thanks John for everything and please look me up on your next trip up to

    Huntsville. Chris

This is my truck pictured above ^^^ Let me start this from the drive down... We all know how crappy these things are when climbing long hills on the interstate and the sudden shift to 4th gear and RPM's shooting up. The 100 mile drive from my house to B'ham is full of these hills.

When I arrived, John was standing in the driveway waiting for me. After a quick introduction, he got started right away. He took his time and clearly explained everything he was doing step by step and answered every question I had. It went flawlessly and then it was time for the test drive. I immediately got a big grin on my face when I touched the gas pedal. It was like night and day. John sits in the passenger seat with a wireless pad and monitors everything the truck is doing as I drive, telling me everything he is seeing and everything is exactly as it should be. I don't know how many times I started laughing during the drive from feeling how responsive the truck was now and at the difference in the way it was shifting thru the gears. We end the test drive and I start the drive back home...

I stop to fill up with gas and hit the interstate. I'm grinning again. I'm cruising back up the long uphills at 85mph and it's right at about 2000rpm's, now it downshifts to FIFTH and doesn't miss a beat. I get home and wait for my girlfriend to get off work and tell her "let's go somewhere", so we drive up to Nashville just for the hell of it.

Today i even drove to a Home Depot 20mi away instead of going to the one that's 1.5mi from my house, just so I could drive it more. To sum it all up, John made me love my truck. The KDMax tune is the sh!t. If you haven't got it yet, get it, you won't be disappointed. (and he also said that it would take a couple of tanks of gas to "settle in", so I'm pretty stoked to see how it's all going to turn out)
