Yikes! I never take mine to the dealership, they can't seem to do anything right. Southern Offroad has always done my stuff right. My last truck was an 85 K5 Blazer and they set it up for me. I look forward to when i get the cash to take my Tacoma to them.

If Krookz didn't get banned he could have told you how to fix it! You probably need to shim your carrier bearing down a little bit like an inch.. You pitch of your axle is probably too steep.

I have about 2" rear, about 1.75" up front... I don't know what your stance is, but I've had no problems.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
yeah, i had the shutter. I dont know if it went away or i don't notice it anymore. I do believe it comes from axle wrap, not wheel hop. I would explain it to you, but this does it better.

3" up front and i would say 2" rear with the tsb and then tsb AAL from toytec. im thinkin im gonna have to get the ome carrier bearing spacer kit. just thought it was kind of a mild lift to have to worry bout stuff like that though.

Paul since you are the soon to be mech engineer you think the spacer for the bearing would be a good idea?

it can't hurt. I think kyle destroyed his, but I guess thats to be understandable with a monster truck. I'd take a look into the shims as well. Can't stand behind my word 100% though cause i haven't done either. Search around on the forum, or pm chris4x4. Hes done everything right on his truck and hes always been more than helpful to me.

    Justin,

I believe I remember seeing where people did the shim or got a single piece driveshaft to fix it. It has been a while since I read about it.

id be more inclined to think a shim. start at the location of the problem. i wonder if your aal plus tsb sits higher than mine. I know my front sits a tad higher than the rear. You know how how i love the bro lean.

I destroyed my carrier bearing because i didn't realize i blew a cap on one of my UV joints on my rear axle and with that much shudder cause my carrier bearing to blow out! So now i have a new both! No shudder since!

It doesn't necessarily have to be fixed at the source of the problem. It has everything to do with the angles, regardless of where they are adjusted. You can increase one, or the other. As long as they are within spec you should be fine. That said, I've had the takeoff vibe that goes away at 7-10mph ever since the truck was new. I had it with the TSB leaf packs, and I have it with my Dakar packs. I tried the CB drop spacers with the Dakar packs, and it was no better without vs with.

Here's a really good read on the driveline geometry stuff. It's fairly complex.
