Do you have any idea how the older shocks compare to the new sports shocks in OME?

    An absolute dream.

Reason of going king over all else is the fact that downspout motorsports will custom valve them for free before shipping them out to you. You can get icons custom valve but thar is extra money that icon gets and they do not get in a hurry.

Also the rebuild comment is false. You line up all the coilovers on the market and treat them all the same and they will all need rebuilt at the same time. Rebuilds are straight forward and can be done in your own garage for the most part.

I personally don't like icons, but that is just because of their initial valving and expense for parts (valves shims etc). I would rather go king and have them built to order and know that parts are fair priced and readily available. Also look at sway away, ads, and others. I would stray from fox though. Only because the finish they put on theirs doesn't seem to hold up very well and they corrode very quickly, especially if exposed to road salt.

You can ask Brian, I have had pretty much every type of front suspension on my truck. Spacers, Billie and eibach, OME 885's and 886's on OME struts, and now kings. If I had it all to do over, I would have rolled stock suspension until I could get the kings.

I would also highly suggest against putting OME coils on billies. Stick with what that manufacturer intended them to be run with.

I'm sold. Which ones did you go with, and have you measured your flex?

Not sure what you mean... kings are kings. But mine are extended travel with 700 lbs springs and valved for my weight and demands. And my flex is all the way to the compression of my Superbumps. :notsure: hope that is helpful.

Are there not RR and IR available in Kings? Sorry I've been looking at a ton of suspensions and they all run together a little bit. Do they all come with 700# springs? How do I decide how I would need them valved?

Ok let me try to do this right.

1)only RR offered for 2nd Gen in king. You can get non RR in most all the others or special built by king, but why pay the extra to king to get rid of the RR?

    2) no. I believe standard spring is 650? Maybe 600... but I think 650. I have 700 to accommodate for the plate bumper, winch, skids, and everything else that has added weight.

    3) call DSM and plan to be on the phone uninterrupted for a while. They will quiz the hell out of you. But it is for a good reason.

Super helpful. Thank you! I'm going to go 700# as well because I plan to add bumpers.

I have come up with a plan.

I am going to start with this kit http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/OME-Tacoma-Suspension-lift-kit_p_231.html# from toytec. I called an confirmed that it comes with the new sport shocks and struts even though the picture shows the old ones. 724.99 shipped to my door with the TW discount.

I can then switch to 887 springs when I get the TC UCAs.

Last I will get the Dakar leaf pack from headstrong.

Even with the sale and rebate that wheelers has this will only cost me about $200 more but I can spread it out.

Was going to see what yall guys thought about it, and see if you had any suggestions.

@TacoFMS one more question, do these provide any "lift" to the truck? I'm trying to figure out at what point I will actually "replace" my 3" Rough Country kit and be able to take it off and still have the same lift height..

meaning I can adjust them to give me the 3" lift I have now? Will that put more stress on them or cause a rougher ride at all?

As much or as little as you want. You just crank them up or down. Up to 3". But just remember, the more you crank them up the less down travel you have. And no down travel is a very bad thing. That is why 90% of the guys that wheel their rigs and run coilovers set them to 2 to 2 1/2" max.

That and the fact that lift has absolutely zero to do with what size tire you can run!

Well, then. What would you and @justinalldredge19 recommend in my position? Trying to get rid of the 3" RC Spacer Lift.

Are you basing your happiness off what the local Bros think at the mall? Are you going to offroad the truck
