Ok I do have an 85 pin and as far as I can tell there isn't a dedicated wire for the relay ground

Chassis of the light bar may be acting as the ground point right now.

i am going to kind of assume that the light bar is being powered by the high beam circut. it needs to be powered directly from the battery. the second wire is the "trigger" wire for the relay.

The relay is grounded on the 85 pin, 87 has 2 red wires one is going to the battery with an inline fuse the other red one is tapped into the headlight as well, the blue wire that's tapped into the headlight is going to 86

the fused red wire should be the only wire running from the battery to the relay pin 87. the other wire should be hooked up to pin 30 and going to the positive lead on the light bar.

This is back feeding battery voltage through the high beam circuit

at a minimum, pull the fuse and the relay untill this can be wired correctly.

So I pulled everything out so it's easier to see where they are going, the red wire from the light bar is going to 30. The black wire from the light bar is going to 85 (there's 3 black wires on this) one to where the battery grounds the last one to the headlight. 87 has 2 red wires one with fuse to batt and the other to head light.

use steveO86 wiring diagram... this is exactly how that light bar should be wired. only 1 wire should be soldered (high beam wire) at the headlight socket harness. that needs to be the wire going to the 86 pin. nothing else

the light bar negitive wire needs to be grounded at a chassis ground or battery ground. you're golden for the positive wire on pin 30.

the relay can be grounded the same way on pin 85. no need for 3 wires there.

the fused red wire should be the only wire going to pin 87.

remove the second red wire going to the headlight socket. this is connection is causing you problems... and will cause more if not removed.

do you want this light bar to only operate when the high beams are on? that's how your setup is right now.
