Anyone figure out how to have Alexa give you directions? Every time I ask, says she’s getting directions but never does.

It works on mine. Do you have location services on for the Alexa app on your phone?

Worked once for me. Alexa put the coordinates into Saved Destinations. Hasn't worked since.

Not digging the fact that I have to open entune (or log in) and then start Alexa services. Hopefully this is a step one type thing that will get improved within an update or two.

After one short drive I already regret having bothered with trying to get Alexa up and running. you have to have the Entune app running.
Volume changes randomly (only reset via power on/off)
Extreme lag or non-responsiveness of changing track.

I’ll stick with opening the Prime music or Apple Music app and going from there.

I did this update to my 2017 Taco w/ JBL premium and nav and the second time I turned the system on it crashed and now it just stays on the start up screen for 10 minutes and then resets. It just keeps doing that cycle over and over and I can't get it to respond or do anything else. I disconnected the battery hoping it would reset things but it didn't. I contacted Toyota and got a claim number and have an appointment today at the dealership. I have had zero issues with that system since October 29, 2016 when I first drove the taco off the lot, I install the update and it crashes the second time I turn it on. I hope Toyota covers it even though I am out of warranty because that cannot be a coincidence.

I am disabling it until there are some future updates... Way to annoying.

If you are worrying about that, then you should stay home because there are so many cameras watching you everywhere.

If you are not worrying about the cameras, then you shouldn't worry about them spying on you on Alexa headunit.

I get you man, super tedious to get it to work. Plus, you have to have the Entune app active. I open it, but still get the Entune telling me to open the app on the phone. I gave up after a few times. I still have issues with bluetooth connection from time to time though. When I start playing, the music is sped up for some reason. Only thing that helps is turning the truck off and on. Sometimes that doesn't even work. Thinking about going aftermarket with something that actually works. :(

    It doesn't matter.

Cameras: They spy you by watching you on the cameras.

Listening devices: They spy you by listening you.

If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about. They don't care about what you are doing or saying. They don't care if they heard you or spouse moaning.

What a colossal waste of time trying to get alexa setup on my vehicle. Nothing worked, it was super slow to process requests, the navigation feature worked significantly worse than the entune navigation, which I didnt think possible, the sound of the assistant was routed through my phone, etc. Pure crapola.

I tried installing the app on my phone to improve functionality. Waste of time.

At least you can disable it. Hopefully it didn't reduce the functionality of Entune, what little of it there was.

Please don't call Toyota and reinforce this crap they pushed on us.

    How did you disable it?
I ended up deleting the Entune app on my phone because I’ve somewhat correlated the random volume changes to the interaction between Entune/ Alexa.

In the entune app, when disconnected from vehicle, click on alexa bar below the bluetooth bar. At the bottom of the next screen is a blue button to disconnect. I also turned off the microphone permission in the entune app settings, and deleted the alexa app from my phone.

To get rid of alexa taking over your audio screen, click on the audio button on the side of the HU twice, and choose anything else. Hopefully it doesn't rear its ugly head again.

Anyone notice any issues with the Alexa update? I notice that the volume now adjusts when I open other apps on my phone and the volume is so low now. It kind of sucks
