Alexa Update (2019 Tacoma)

Most of us stopped using it. It is garbage.

 

How do I remove it? I don’t like that it lowers my volume all the time now

 

If you are using an iPhone, go into settings for toyota entune and shut off cellular data. App cannot start

 

I just installed the update.

turn up the volume on your phone.

Use Volume control on the steering wheel or knob After that.

if you are listening to Amazon music using alexa, you will need to use the touch screen or say "alexa next" to skip the track

Also, no way to adjust the sound (low, mid, high & fade) that i know of yet.


This has potential to be good, just dont expect much for now

 

Am I the only one who found out that you need to ask Alexa volume 10???

If the volume is maxed out on the phone and the radio and you asked Alexa to set the volume to 10... I don't know what you are playing that would be low.

Once I found out to ask Alexa volume 10 I was so happy, just it doesn't save the setting from time to time

 

So if I ask Alexa to raise the volume, it won’t be low anymore? I usually just play music through the Apple Music app. I’ll try it out and see if it works like that.

 

Has anyone installed the Entune update that was released earlier this week? Did it actually fix any of the Alexa issues?

not sure if anyone's talked about this in the previous pages as i'm not going to read all 8 of them, but i just disabled Alexa from my entune app because she was really messing with my volume. She'd cut it in half so that she could hear me if I said her name, then kick back in and blast my volume 2x back to normal levels and nearly blow my ears out.

Not worth it

 

Works just fine on my head unit, the only thing I wished they would've done is have the Alexa voice go through the main speakers and not my phone, anyway i like it

 

Good to hear they updated it, I had to go the alpine route and get wireless CarPlay. Best upgrade

Have been very happy with just asking her to set the volume at 10

 

Reviving an old thread. Is it better these days or still garbage? When it first came out it was so bad i just completely removed it.
