    Hello,

I have an 09 Tacoma PreRunner and about 6 months ago I installed 3 inch spacer in the front and 2 inch block in the back. I am going to remove the 2 inch block in the rear because my truck drives like shit now. I plan on keeping the front lifted for more a leveled look (I know the front will be higher by about a half an inch), but I was wondering if I needed to get another alignment after removing the 2 inch rear blocks?

    Thank you,

    Austin

Great question. I wish I knew the answer. Jack those blocks out of there and see how it drive I guess.

Did you have it aligned when you lifted it?

Yes I had it aligned, but it was fine. Maybe off a tiny bit.

If youre just removing the rears you wont need an alignment. If it was independent wishbone suspension in the rear then you would, but there is nothing in the rear to adjust with it being a solid axle. Only the front has adjustable alignment.

Thank you for the response. And If I ended up doing a 1.5inch AAL, I am assuming I wouldn't need to?

    naw you will be fine.

The only thing raising and lowering the rear effectively does to the front alignment is change the caster angle. In your case this will give you more caster which is a good thing

(yes it also does change the toe and camber but a cunt hair, but for all intensive purposes caster is the only measurable thing that will change by lowering the rear 2 inches)

Awesome. Thank you. Now I am hoping that it doesn't look weird with a 3inch lift in the front and nothing in the rear.

hmm I don't think it will look like that. I measured and it should only be about 1 inch higher in the front, maybe a little less.

I promise it will not look like what you are expecting. 3" in the front and nothing in the rear pretty much will look like the pic above

    That looks SICK, bro!

Wheeler's / Headstrong / Icon progressive 3-leaf AAL is most commonly recommended.

    No problem.

Also, just for reference here's my truck with 2.5" lift fresh off of a front lift kit install with nothing done to the rear:

If you've got 3" in the front, you'll have even more lean that what I had there. Just food for thought.

Thank you for the picture. I am going to take off the rear blocks and then go from there. Might just get the Wheeler's AAL, it is only $80 on their website.

Mine is the PreRunner, aren't they slightly higher in the rear then other Tacoma models?

PreRunners & TRDs have the same ride height front & rear. So no the PreRunner won't be higher than the rear.
