Gonna put my lift on next week, and trying to squeeze in alignment and tire install before the week is over. I couldn't get an appointment at costco to get my tires put on my new wheels until friday in the afternoon. By the time they finish installing my tires, the place i wanna go to get my alignment will be closed and isn't open on the weekend. If i go to get an alignment with my stock tires and then put my new wheels and tires on after, will it make a difference in my alignment? Do the wheels and tires play any role in the alignment? Going from stock tires to 285-70/17

Nope, not really. That'll work just fine.

Added benefit of doing it that way is that you will not guess if it is the lift or the tires causing the new vibe (if there is one).

You sure Costco will install that size ? They wouldn’t install it for me because it’s more then 3% above stock

I bought the tires from costco so yea, i dont see why they wouldn't. Plus my gf has 275 70 17's that she had put on her 4runner a few years ago at the same costco

You are adding about 2”-3” of tire diameter. The alignment tech needs to have have the actual tires to minimize rub.

Wheels and tires don't affect alignment unless your old wheels are bent or out of round.

You might want to call , they wouldn’t install my KO2 because it wasn’t in the Oem spec size 00F44827-CDE3-4C44-A192-EC385C788323.jpg

Costco normally would not install 285" on our trucks. But now that 285's are offered as a dealer option? They might?
    Just depends on the tech.

Yea, hoping i dont have an issue. Guy seemed like a cool braddah, i even asked him about swapping my tpms sensors from my stock tires to the new wheels and he said no problem

The Costco here is so busy they rarely do additional work.
They use to mount and balance any rim and tire for $15 ea. (You didn't have to buy it from them)
You were just buying the "mounting and balancing" service from them. (Too bad they no longer do that)

So now, I take wheels I buy from Amazon and tires I purchase from Servco to a GoodYear and they will mount and balance a set for me for $79, no problem.

The good thing is that GoodYear includes road hazard service in the mounting and balancing cost. So if I get a flat they will fix it for Free like Costco.

guessing all costcos may be different, but I had no issues with them installing my 285's onto my new wheels. even got them to swap my tpms sensors from my stock wheels to my new wheels and they put regular valve stems in my stock wheels
