Hey everyone. I just completed my 2020 OR suspension upgrade with 6112s up front on 5/4 settings with SPC UCAs and 5160s on the back with an Icon AAL pack. I’ve been trying to find out if anyone has had any issues with running the high caster numbers that I keep seeing on these alignment threads for 3rd gens. I am somewhat new to the detailed alignment specs, so I went with pushing the wheels forward by maxing out the LCA cams and then had the shop dial in the alignment with the UCAs. I asked for high 3s on caster and it came back to me with the following:

Caster 3.8 driver and 4.2 passenger
Camber - 0.2 degrees both sides
    Toe - 1/32” driver and 0” passenger

The truck drives great and feels very planted now. This was not the case stock. I hated driving the truck at highways speeds. It never tracked straight and it was exhausting. I could nap now and it would still be going straight when I woke up. haha

My only concern is that I am reading some posts about how high caster numbers put a lot of stress on the LCA bushings and ball joints causing premature wear, etc. Has anyone run into this issue? My truck is not my daily driver and only has 8000 kms on it at this time after a year of driving. I am building a truck that will get me to where I want to go, but I have no plans in wheeling it hard on a regular basis. I want to explore/hunt/fish, and basically get away from all the idiots.

I would appreciate some feedback from those running high caster numbers. Cheers.

Picture is before I pushed the front wheels out with lower cams.

So got lift installed. 6112s (5/6 setting), icon rxt leaf pack w/5100s, camburg x-joint uca. I set the caster to max forward after putting lift on. That is what the pre install numbers are. 4.6. Minor adjustments and I would have had 4deg caster. Drove to get tires installed and alignment. Truck felt planted. The tech said that he adjusted to 4 but then he test drove it and got some pulling to the right. So he set it to factory and called it a day. And then tried some BS about tire wear and that he couldn’t get it get it to 4. I guess he doesn’t get the point of cross caster. So I get to go back in after waiting 2 hrs for them to change it and let me drive it and see how I like it (which with 2.5 it feels like I am driving a cloud around on the freeway as I am constantly drifting around. Nightmares… and I need a CMC soon barely rubbed with my settings. Rubs like a MF’r now

Dropping from 4.6 to 2.5 will pull the wheels back by quite a bit. They could have spent 5 minutes setting the toe and billed a complete alignment.

That’s exactly what I am saying. I’m mean I had it dam close except the toe. But know the monkey said otherwise. And it definitely pulled the wheel back a lot cause it was kind of rubbing at 1.5 wheel turns before the alignment. Now it slams into the back well. Hopefully getting the alignment resolved tomorrow. I post up some results.

Got 6112 up front, just had delta joint uca installed to replace the factory ones, (I was rolling around on factory ones about 6 months)

I heard I would get a little more articulation and better alignment so I had them installed and the alignment pulls a tiny bit to the right, which on the stock ones it was dead straight, alignment tech said before it did not pull but that the numbers were really bad and he did not want to leave it like that because it was eating the inside of my tires, which I’m not sure can not say. He also said he did not know why the shocks were notched one notch higher on the diver side 5/4 i explained the taco lean, I don’t believe this person had much experience with lifted Toyota’s but I can’t say I forgot to ask for alignment numbers as he didn’t give me any.

Anyone know a good shop in the so cal area? Also could it be the arms? have no experience with aftermarket uca or Tacoma’s in general as this is my first one, but I like the icon design and they seem to be pretty nice and feel good.

are the arms the same size as oem?

Thank you I appreciate the knowledge of people on this forum

Currently have Spc ucas at setting D, trd OR suspension and a 2" spacer trying too achieve best ride quality with more cab clearance from tires that are 265 75 16. My lower cams are maxed out, would changing too setting E improve this?

Bilstein 5160 up front 6/5 setting. Was paired with SPC UCAs but they developed crazy play in bushings and ball joint after 10k miles. Somehow with spc it gave 1.25 in lift. Put oem ucas back on and now have 2in of lift. How does this happen? Here are my alignment specs. Was shooting for 2.5 caster but that put camber way out of spec. Update, Lca bushings and a Lower Ball Joint are basically donzo on my truck  42k miles, don't think its from alignment specs, just hard abuse. On my second set of SPC upper ball joints

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm on a 2" front lift and 1.5" rear with Bilstein 6112/5160s with OME UCA. From what I've skimmed through, seems like the target is Camber/Toe as close to 0.0 as possible and Caster is 2.5-3ish? I have 255/85r16 tires and was wondering if anyone that's running the same size tires knows if the higher caster will make the tires rub? Just got the UCAs installed over a week ago and the shop did a bad job at alignment and want to take it back but I'm also considering taking it to a dedicated 4x4/off road shop somewhere local to me.
