I recently bought my first toyota tacoma (2006 base model, double cab, manuel 6 speed, power everything, and 4x4) and am loving it so far except for one issue, my door locks. All 4 door locks as well as the remote just stopped working one day then the next were fine. They lasted for 4 days working great then it happened again. Its been a week now and I dont think they will be making a come back. I've checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood and they are both good. Also replaced the batteries in my keyless remote. I hear alot of talk about the actuators going out but don't think it could happen to all 4 at once.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    -Thanks

Check to make sure all your doors are fully closed. I pulled that one today... I could unlock the truck but could not lock it. Walked around and found one door not closed all the way.

Do the lock/unlock switches in the doors work? The way you worded you OP, left this unclear.

Had that happen to my truck after the dealer had it for an alignment. Either key fob wouldn't work. Can't remember if I just changed the batteries or if they just started to work again.

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Swap relays. It's probably going bad.

I looked at the wiring diagram on the service manual link at TTORA. It looks like the body control module (fuse box housing) controls the door locks. With an intermittent problem, it could be a fuse, wiring connection, or (gasp) the BCM door lock control wireless

So just to clarify, the don't unlock, OR lock at all correct? If the truck senses it has a door open, they will only unlock.

    Bump!

Reviving an old thread - wondering what your solution was?

I'm all ears! It is presently my problem ; neither remote is consistent, despite battery changes. Activation with either door lock button is perfect, as is external activation with the key. Could it be the "radio" receiver?

I just bought my first Tacoma recently and has the same door lock issues. This is an old thread but doesn't look like it's been resolved.

I have a 2011 with the same issues. Most threads said that the door lock actuator motor is the issue. I bought a 4 pack and swapped 1 so far, didn't fix it. I already changed the 20a fuse when I first got it but now it's warm enough to actually work on it properly.

From what I figured so far, the power windows and locks are on the same relay and fuse? The power windows all work perfectly fine. The doors won't lock or unlock from the fob or from the control panel on the driver's side door.

When press the lock/unlock button on the control panel on the driverside door, I can hear something clicking under the steering wheel column. I'm assuming that the relay is located under there or in the fuse panel. I have had no luck finding any diagrams or videos on where the door lock relay is though.

Did you end up fixing your issue?

Here are the prints. There is no relay. locking is controlled by the Body ECU.
