Ive had a spacer lift on mine for 2 years and no problems. There is no ride difference unless you buy the one thats in the strut those are awful. I take mine out in the dunes and have done 50 over the whoops and it didnt break like all the idiots are saying. They are worth the 200 bucks if you cant afford anything else.

What camera did you use for those shots? They are very nice. The third one from the top, do you have one in high resolution? I need it so I can use it as a wallpaper for my iMac.

 

The more I read on here and other places, the more away I am getting from spacers. If too many in here say no, then it is no! I would have loved it if this country would have said no to elect the current jerk we have on the white bench.

I will probably end up with some 5100s adjustable but I really like the coilovers for $800 from Toytec...

I've got spacers and haven't had any problem. Coudn't really tell a difference in the ride. I'd like to have gone with 5100's, but dind't have the cash and needed somethin to lift the front quickly before I rubbed so much I tore my bumper off. So I went with spacers.

Top spacer kits dont preload anything.

 

I've had experience with them and I would say that I got a shitty ride, block in back caused a thud when I stopped, and one of my shocks blew out without my notice. Now I'm running OME 885's, Billies all around, and a wheeler's/icon 3 leaf aal in back

Correct. They do, however, damage your ball joints by just forcing the whole shock assembly down. They also make your bump stops useless. You will bottom out the shock before you hit the bump stop.

i went with the 3" Toytec kit with the replacment front coil and the rear add aleaf... looks great and rides better then stock vary vary vary happy with the kit

The exact same way that installing 5100's or OME longer coilovers do. Unless you are replacing the lower control arm and upper control arm your screwed just as you would be with a moderate top spacer kit. As for bumpstops they are easily replaced with longer ones.

 

I have redi lift spacers, I find that they ride the same as stock. And I take my truck out and actually use it, I go wheeling I do "rock" climbing, I put way too much weight in the back and then four people in it and abuse it a bit.

I use my equipment hard - thats why I bought a Tacoma .

I will be getting the billi 51's and OME heavy coils in the future, but the spacers make the truck more usable and way more enjoyable for the cost and time that it takes to install until I can afford better.

 

The 5100's and OME shocks are not any longer than stock, so they won't allow everything over extend and bind. You basically just lose down travel with them. They are more similar to coil spacers, because they preload the spring, or in the case of ome, use a stiffer spring. The difference is that the aftermarket shocks are designed to dampen the stiffer spring, while the stock shocks with a coil spacer are not.
