    Is anyone using this brand?

[IMG] I can’t find a single thread about it which is surprising. I’ve read all the posts about the Expedition Essentials mount (https://expeditionessentials.com/co...oducts/toyota-tacoma-bedside-compressor-mount), but this appears to be superior for my application.

    Specifically:
    • No drilling required with the paper template.
    • The box is much more enclosed to reduce the amount of dust and debris. (I would open the door during use for ventilation.)
    • The box includes a location to mount a switch. (Cab mounted switch, or both, is optional.)
    • If you buy an ARB compressor with the mount, you get the extended wiring harness included.
I’d love some input from anyone who has gone the bed mounted route for air.

I thought about it, but that’s a long run of relatively high current wire just waiting to get dinged underneath…

I put mine under the passenger seat

I installed one a couple weeks ago. Instructions were a little vague, especially using it on the passenger side, but I managed to get a single compressor in there with the power outlet in its stock location and the hose connected and stored. It’s in solid with three bolts out of four right now, because I could not reach the upper rear. I’m going to remove the taillight when it gets nice out again, and see if I can access it from there. There seemed to be missing some “longer bolts” that I had to get for the four corners, but not a big deal. Wiring went smoothly. 54E7FDDD-880D-46B4-A2F7-416AC3A0876D.jpg C9F6FCD0-795A-44A9-97A0-C8492EB19C21.jpg 444CFBF4-ABF8-4445-9EAC-B163F15FA111.jpg

I can’t quite tell from the picture, but do you have the compressor wired into the Blue Sea box with a 40amp fuse? I was going to try a 30 in mine to stay within spec for the box. ARB shows the current draw at load to be 23A so it may work. I know the in-line fuse is a 40.

Good Eye. The only reason I used a 40 was because that was what was in-line, and I was unaware of a Blue-Sea 30 amp limit. Perhaps I’ll change that. Thanks.

I installed this today and fucking around with the expedition essentials one for a few hours and it is way better quality. I think it drops a little lower so I'm not 100% it'll clear a high clearance bumper which I guess I'll find out soon...

But build quality is higher, the documentation quality is higher and the install method is way better than drilling 6 holes that clip through the box.

Question, how in the heck did you tighten the upper nuts? I'm real close to drilling a few small pilot holes sending a few self tappers through the bezel.

I used a 10mm closed end wrench from inside the box. Theres little cut outs so you can reach the backside of the nutzert from inside.

Ah, that's where I screwed myself by using a smittybilt compressor, had to mount the compressor before mounting up the box itself. I'll give it another try

I put in an ARB twin and it’s mounted before the box too but there’s just enough room to get a quarter turn on the wrench 30 times.

It was a pain even with the box empty.
