I'm pretty sure that's the way they are supposed to be installed. Made sense to me when i bolted them on anyway. You don't have to torque the upper mounts down a bunch. I think its only 19ftlbs or so. Hope that helps.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - for some reason I wasn't notified that there were new posts on this thread.

I'm running 17x8.5 wheels (not 16x8, for reference). And to answer your questions:

    1) As stated previously, the settings range from 1 being the lightest, to 8 being the firmest.
    2) For added weight, you should set them on a firmer setting, but your setting would likely be different than mine since we are running different leaf springs.
    3) We cannot possibly recommend specific blanket settings that will work for everyone since there are so many different set-ups and people "off-road" in various ways as well.

That is the beauty of these shocks - the adjusters allow you to tune your ride to your preference.

Your bottom washer is installed wrong, the illustration above (bottom) is correct. Fox does include a "owner's manual" sheet with these shocks, and this is the first time instructions have been requested that I know of, so we'll look into including them from now on.

Please let me know if you have any more questions/concerns. And if it appears that I have replied timely on the forum, just contact us directly. I try to answer questions daily, but as you can see, it is easy to miss some when we have nearly 10 forums to monitor!

Thanks for the reply! I'll flip the washers and buy a little more clearance tomorrow when I install the 3 degree axel shims. Also, if the 19 ft-lbs is correct that would be great to include in the instructions. I know calling out torque with nylock can be tough.

I am really interested in adding this kit to my truck but I have a few questions...

I have a front spacer lift which I am going to replace in the spring with Fox Coil over and new TC UCA's.

Anyhow back to the rear... I did a 1.5 Add-a-leaf when I installed the front spacers, but the stock leafs are now flat. They have no or very little arc left to them. My stock leafs are shot and I don't care to mess with the TBS or a Dealer.

I would like to keep the stock stance (rake) of the truck. Would this be to much lift in the rear untill I can replace the front spacers?

I have these shocks and had no problem with installing them. Just made sure they wouldn't touch the tire and left it alone. I have had them on since October 10' with no problems. I am running a higher setting since I have weight in the back for winter traction.

Personally, I don't think these shocks are worth the money. Just my honest opinion...

Ok, so I purchased these shocks for myself and had them installed on 2/7. To be honest, I was quite satisfied with the feel and performance for the two days I had them. I had seen this thread prior to the install and had the shocks installed accordingly. Unfortunately, I was out on a mild trail today (Sunday 2/9) and I experienced an equipment failure with the driver side shock. The top mounting stem snapped right off the top of the shock weld. Inside of this weld was rust and it appeared to have a defect.

Seeing that it's Sunday, I understand All-Pro and FOX suspension are closed. Hopefully I can get help tomorrow and can get a replacement as these should be under a warranty.

I've attached pictures. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem :(

that's not a snap, that stem is pressed and crimp peened over, more then likely was pulled out due to the shock being the limit strap. btw, if your trying to make a case, perhaps removing the photos of you in the air may net a more believable story.

The jumping pictures are older and taken before this new setup. These shocks were on my truck for two days (an invoice to prove it) and they only saw the street and one trail. The tires never left the ground.

That aside, there is rust shown in the pictures. That doesn't happen in 2 days. I am confident that All Pro and Fox are both reputable companies who can help correct this faulty.

Thank you for following up and I appreciate your concern. This post was for a reference purpose and NOT to tarnish All-Pro or Fox. I'll be keeping in touch, thanks again!

Update: All-Pro handled the situation and got in contact with Fox. Fox will be warrantying the shock.

However, I'm still worried about how close the resi elbow is to the mount. Hope it doesn't happen again. They say these shocks are meant to be installed on our Tacomas without any modifications and I opted for these because I like the piggyback mounted on top rather than the bottom. Anybody else running these shocks that has done anything different to insure a better fit?

    Update:
Everything with the shocks after this many years is fine. They fit is a little tight for our trucks and the corrosion is a little worse than I would prefer, but all in all, they work! I just hope they last now that I've updated this post. :)
