I tried to get the rubber ones swapped to carpet when I got mine. The dealer said that since they are port installed they couldn't do a swap even though they were still in the box. More than likely, I was already getting a great deal on the Taco and they didn't want to give anymore?

Since, I have been pretty happy with the rubbers.

I'll add: I'm a Land Surveyor with a very small company. I usually buy a Taco or Frontier every few years. Use it as a clean personal truck, then make it a work truck. I know now is a shitty time to buy. I'm buying because I have 2 vehicles I don't need and trades are high as hell.

I thought the dealer was double charging, but the Toyota allows that option... The only thing that makes sense is that it's a 265/70 of a different type than the standard G.Y..... Regardless, I don't think they are $450+ tires, (Std. G.Y. + Upgrade)......

Folks do like the Duratracs, but there are a lot of other great options. That said, I was surprised to see that the Wildpeaks have jumped in price by a significant amount. Thankfully, I'm out about 8mo before I need to start worrying.

How are you liking the 255/85s I was looking at that tire but 60lbs/tire seems like they’d noticeably reduce mileage, braking and acceleration. Have been talking myself into 265/75 duratracs or wildpeaks.

Op I have the "upgrade" and they suck. If the road is even slightly slick/wet,

I feel I summed it up in my post. I love ‘‘em off road, but the mud terrains are crap on the road, but I already knew that and that is why I went with two sets of wheels are tires.

I don’t notice any braking difference, but I don’t drive my truck like a race car on the road nor was I involved in a near collision. I do notice rolling resistance, noise, and ride quality.

LoL same here! I preferred the regular carpet and mine came with the rubber.
I found a set of brand new carpeted floormats for $50 from a local TRD Pro guy who installed weather techs on day 1.

So I now have summer matts and my winter and rain spring matts lol. Carpet so soft I drive bare foot during the summer :D

I needed steps. One because I'm disabled and two to step on... obviously... helps getting in and knocking the snow off your boots. Not everyone needs sliders. I mean, I'd love to have them but the steps are more functional for me and it's a sacrifice I have to make.

The real concern here is the $700 for two oil changes and tire rotations. Also the $329 for carpet floor mats. I'd take both of those out and save $1k off (that's 1k with interest) then buy some all weathers and a baxter filter mod. Wait, that's exactly what I did, lol. I don't see any reason to get an "off road" model if it's 2wd. If you want the tech package or things like leather, there has to be another way. Clazzio seat covers for example. Tons of upgrades that can be bought without tacking on to overall interest.

TBH, this dealer has some markups and sketchy pricing. The overall price for a 2wd "OR" is not worth it. Get a lower tier model. These guys even put "6 gallons of gas" in their listing. What the actual fuck? Better fill my damn tank when I buy a 40k truck.

OP, find another dealer. Don't think twice about it. This one is shady.

Ya I thought the gas line item was weird too.

Willing to bet their joke of an "extended warranty" is also going to be thrown in there in the hopes you don't notice it. Wanna bet they want over $3k for that? Steer clear here.

Doesn't matter where you go, avoid and clearly state "no extended warranty - no extra's".

    No means no.

Thanks. I've been working 7 different dealers. I started this thread to try and figure out the tire option. It's seeming like it's bullshit...

Do yourself a favor and build one exactly like you want it online, then print it out. Take it to the dealer.

They are showing you what they have available. Not what you want. Patience is key here.

I took a set of 8mo old Duratracs into the dealer and had them swap out the Wrangler Kevlars in exchange for a spare set of steel rims for the wife's Rav4 so she'll have dedicated summer and winters. I could have hung onto the Kevlars and sold them privately for a few buck more but this swap was clean and done. Your dealer will turn and sell those Kevlars for $500.

My 2022 OR came with Goodyear territory’s (Kevlar)a/t. I actually like them a lot. Nice looking tire for stock.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Ouch, Predators! I picked up my brand new takeoffs from a guy on CL on the way home from dealer on day of purchase for $100.
