Going to have to try to watch the pre main card fights as I heard the same thing

 

FS1 card was pretty good. I did miss the BJ Penn fight though.

 

Good night of fights. Bummed about the main event though.

 

So anybody want to bet over or under for anyone pissing hot for 232?

It sounds like I missed a great night of fights. I was watching my Crimson Tide beat the Sooners. I read the play by plays on Sherdog. It sounds like B.J. tapped almost immediately. Was the heel hook that bad? I really wish B.J. had hung it up years ago and hate to see him drop so many fights.

Also, it sounds like Cyborg went out on her sword. Nunes is a better (or more technical) striker and it sounds like Cybirg got caught being wild. I think Cyborg could have taken her if she could be patient and maybe wear her down but Nunes is a really good striker. Maybe Anderson next for her?

Jones is a beast and a smart fighter. His take on Gus was dead on. If you can hold him down for a while it’s like he just gives up.

 

Jones should be banned, somebody finally beat the roidbeast cyborg, and Ryan Hall just got sub of the year.

 

1. Hall did his imanari roll into a heel hook.
Yes bj tapped immediately and yes it was a nasty heel hook. Probably tore some shit up on bjs knee.

2. IMO nunes was the faster and more technical striker. You watch the replay and in the exchange nunes is landing 4-5 hard shots for cyborgs 1-2. They went out and threw hands and nunes lit cyborg up.

3. Yeah, Gus seemed like he was holding back the first 2 rounds. Wasn’t really chaining any combos together. I was hoping we were going to see the same man who showed up to fight Glover but I don’t think that was the case. Jones did a good job of staying out of the pipeline and keeping him at the end of his jabs and kicks. Definitely not a fan of Jones but he definitely executed a game plan based on their first meet up and got the belt because of it .

 

Groin shot for the win.

 

Gus is generally not much of a complainer but he did say that Jones took his movement early on with the groin shot. I think it was clear, without fully saying it was intentional, that he was implying soemhing. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if that “unintentional” groin shot was part of the strategy. I’ve seen Jones go to low shots often and early in the past but we will never really know.

I wasn’t really sure where to put this, but I figured this thread would be best since it has a little bit of a connection to UFC. I usually watch a few of Joe Rogan’s podcasts via YouTube, but it has been a while until today when I saw one pop into my recommendations. It was an interview with Mike Tyson which was actually pretty enjoyable to watch and most of the comments were pretty positive, too. Just wanted to put that out there in case anyone is interested.

Ya, cowboy did well, was a little worried at the start there.

Cowboy looked great but the guy he fought was pretty much still an amateur. Very happy for him.
