Well I think Cruz wouldn’t have survived regardless. Good job cejudo.

Wow well I wasn’t expecting that from Cejudo.

Nooooo Triple C! Sad to hear he's retiring but congrats to him and hope he has a great life with his family. I know his promos are cringy af but I actually like him as an athlete lol didn't like him when they gave him the W over Mighty Mouse though. So that means the bantamweight and flyweight belt is vacant, right? Or did someone already fight for the flyweight? I can't remember.

And hell of a main event! Tony was done..man seeing him try to shake off that last punch..he's a tough sob!

Nothing but props to Tony. He had absolutely nothing to prove and was by all accounts solidified in his right to fight for the undisputed title. He took the fight with JG even when he could’ve sat back and waited for his shot. He had a full camp but trained for a wrestler. Not a stand up beast like JG. Props to tony for continuing with the card and putting on a show to entertain everyone.

that being said, I had JG winning this match up the whole time. Even if tony trained a full camp specifically for JG. I think it was a really bad match up for him stylistically. We knew tony was durable before but god damn did he take some damage.

TBH, after watching the prelims I opted not to buy the PPV. It just seemed awkward, kind of like watching the Ultimate Fighter series, only quieter. I look forward to getting fans back in the seats. It sounds like the main event deserved a stadium.

Some? He took more shots then the rest of the division combined against Gaethje. What a great performance by JG against one of the toughest guys in the UFC.

I was happy to see a good scrap but I also think that Tony's energy might have been a little compromised after having an extra long fight camp and cutting weight twice in less than 30 days.
I think he was trying to make a point by making weight on 4/17 which was the original Khabib fight date not realizing that he was going to have to do it again so soon.
I'm not really a fan of Tony so I'm definitely not making excuses for him but I have to acknowledge that cutting nearly 25 lbs again so soon would be really tough on any fighter.

All I know is that when I watched part of the main event those punches that connected sounded really hard . It was so audible without any crowd. I was like holy shit how is TF surviving these shots?!?!

That is a big question in my mind. We’ve seen Khabib get rocked a time or two before (he has a great chin) but he is hard to put down. If anyone can do it JG can. I think the key is to just survive 2-3 rounds and hope his cardio can wear down Khabib from that huge weight cut and catch him late in the 4th and put his lights out. Honestly, if I were betting I’d go Khabib, but I think JG has the best chance to get it done. If not him then no one.
