Yup she lost. Her boxing is pretty good and fast (I don't know first thing about fighting so to me it looks good lol) now that she doesn't have to worry about kicks and takedown. I'd definitely tune in for another event and recommend it too for mma fans. Or at least give it a chance.

 

Yep. Give Franky a coaching job. I have mad respect for the guy but when your 39 and you get boarded up like that it's gotta make you think about hanging it up. It was painful to watch and Sandhagen even said something about it in the post fight interview.

 

Is anybody even excited to see Kamaru "Taye Diggs jr" Usman vs. Burns ?
It was a pain in the balls getting reimbursed from Paypal cuz the last fight had issues so I don't think I'll be ordering for a while.

 

I wouldn't say I am excited, however I am definitely intrigued. I think Burns has what it takes to beat Usman, but the question is can he perform at that level for 5 rounds.

I saw an interesting stat the other day that proves how dominant Usman is. It said that out of the 223 ufc fighters that have at least 1 hour of grappling in the octagon, only 2 have held control for more than 97% of the time. Those 2 fighters are Usman and Khabib.

 

I'm definitely a fan of Usman and will be rooting for him.

Thanks man but it's date night with the wife. She's more into sappy romantic comedies then the UFC. I do it to keep her happy so I can spend tomorrow afternoon working on my rig and watching the UFC. lol

Burns looked good briefly but Usman’s jab is ridiculous.

Man I agree. I was worried for Usman in the first round, especially the opening when Burns connected with the hook. I know he called out Jorge and got me thinking "Why Jorge?" then quickly realized who is left for Usman in the division? I think he's beaten a lot of the top 10 fighters.

Then there's Grasso and Barber! Barber was throwing some haymakers and landed a few but Grasso and her boxing was able to avoid a dangerous situation. I hope Grasso continues to move her way up to hopefully face Shevchenko.

Random thought on women's strawweight: What the heck happened to Tatiana Suarez? I had her in line for potential 115lb queen but she seems to have dropped from the rankings of the UFC.

Did any of y'all catch that KO from Lewis to Blades last night? When he blamed Herb Dean for those two extra shots afterwards had me cracking up "Thats Herb Dean's fault" lol

I love Derrick Lewis. Dude always has the funniest sound bites. Also, Houston has been a part of my life since 2000 so he’s basically a home town guy for me.

 

He was a bit more reserve on the mic this time, wasn't he? He's definitely one of my favorite heavy weight but I had him losing to Blades due to his takedown but glad Lewis was able to stuff one and then catch him with the upper cut second round. He's aiming for Overeem - what do you think about that match up?

 

I only caught the post fight and a little of the press conference so idk what all he said. Since he lost to DC he’s been on a mission to lose weight and improve his cardio. He seems much better prepared for fights now. He knew Blades was going to shoot and when he did he timed the upper cut perfectly. He sat back and waited for it the entire time. Overeem could be interested. He’s a well rounded fighter but when Lewis lets those hands go you could wake up the next day.
