That dude fights ugly as shit but always makes “better” fighters fight his way. I love it.

 

Kind of a bummer that the UFC and Ngannou couldn't come to terms. I think it comes down to the UFC not wanting to let Ngannou box outside of his UFC contract. Hopefully Ngannou can get the bag somewhere else. Not a great look for the UFC to lose a heavyweight star, but the company will keep on trucking like usual.

Jones vs Gane is a great matchup though. I am hyped for it.

 

Gane V Jones is such an interesting matchup because they're sorta the same...as in they're both super athletic and can move well. Jones hasn't fought in some time but Gane has some pretty weak takedown defense (evidenced in his fight with Ngannou).

March is gonna be an expensive month because the UFC also just announced Edwards V Usman 3 in London on 03.18 as well.

 

would’ve really liked to see JBJ fight Francis. It’ll be interesting to see how the HW division shakes out.

 

Definitely, would have loved to see how Jones planned a fight against such a devastating fighter like Francis.

This fight is particularly exciting to me because of how similar I think Gane and Jones are so similar in style. Gane is a very hard puncher, probably harder than anyone Jones has fought as a LHW. Jones' fight IQ is better than any fighter Gane has seen at HW. I think it's gonna be a really good fight, I am curious to see how Gane defends the takedown and I have been looking forward to seeing how well Jones transitions to HW.

Ultimately, I think the whole HW division needs to be on the lookout for Sergei Pavlovich. I saw that Stipe Miocic (don't know why the UFC has him at #2) has come out from under a ladder truck at his fire department to say that he wants the winner of Jones V Gane...I don't think that he should get that. I say let Miocic fight Pavlovich first. Tuivasa has had back to back losses, so I don't know if he should get to fight Curtis Blaydes or Tom Aspinall. I don't see the UFC putting him against someone too far down the rankings, even though I think that Tuivasa is basically a new version of Derrick Lewis...a guy who just wants to fight, if he gets a title shot or higher rankings out of it all, that's a fringe benefit. I just hope that we see more HWs in action this year.

I’d like to see him finish his career with a win. Almost all the legendary fighters that I can think of seem to finish out their careers with a loss. Shogun is the recent example.
