Any idea who his doctor was at the fight? Turns out one of my ER docs was a ringside guy at the fights this weekend.

He must be stoked and you must be brimming with pride. Congrats to both of you. Looking forward to his next card.

 

Does anyone watch ONE or the PFL too? I'm pretty heavy into BJJ so having the combo of MMA/Muay Thai and Grappling on ONE has been awesome to watch.

 

I watch One when I can. They have some straight killers over there. I watch PFL every once in a while.

 

I love ONE, mostly because of their grapplers but Mighty Mouse is also the goat and their Muay Thai fights are extremely high level as well.

The PFL card from tonight was also damn good. Ali Walsh (Muhammad Ali's grandson) looks like a pro fighter but the fight was considered an amateur fight.

Not sure when the next one will be but he’s excited to get back in there.

 

Love to see Mighty Mouse still fighting at such a high level over there. I always make sure to watch when he’s on the card. The Lee’s are some of my favorites in that organization as well. I haven’t kept track of what the youngest is currently up to but I caught her first 2 fights.

I definitely enjoy their Muay Thai. They have some crazy good fighters. It amazes me how they can throw and check those kicks and not have shattered shins immediately.

I feel like if ONE crossed over with UFC, it wouldn’t end well for the UFC.

 

Just my personal opinion but I think they’re different markets. ONE is more for the true fan of martial arts, while UFC is more for the casual looking for a big knock out type.

 

Pretty good card so far but I doubt many people in the US have watched it yet haha.

Crazy how one punch changed that whole fight. Smith runs away with it if not for that punch.

 

Wow! No one expected that out of Strickland.

 

I tend to root for the good underdogs so I was rooting for Strickland. He wasn’t falling for any of the feints at all and literally checking, blocking, scooping the kicks and making Adensanya miss his kicks . Punch defense was on par with the kick defense too.
Strickland’s team did their homework and stuck to the plan for sure.

 

Spot on assessment. Strickland did everything right and executed a well-thought out fight plan better than I've seen many fighters do in the past.

 

Early stoppage for Jiri but I’m sure he’ll get back on track and have another go round with Poatan. Aspinall is an animal and would really like to see him against a healthy jay bee jay.

 

I thought so too but in the post fight with Rogan he even said he was out. He’s fought through bad situations in multiple fights and pulled it out. I wish the ref would’ve waited slightly longer.

I was worried Aspinall would get destroyed in this fight and man did he prove me wrong. That dude he beat is a straight up savage.

I’d love to see him fight JBJ but I’m wondering if Stipe is next since Jones is injured. Then the winner unifies the belts with a fight against Jones. I haven’t looked to see the timeline on his return from injury but that fight would be around a year out.

Edit: Minimum of 8 months for Jones so that would give Tom and Stipe a chance to fight then the winner gets Jones in about a year.

Another edit (because it’s 5:37am and I have nothing to do but drink coffee while I get motivated to go to work): Dana said the fight with Jones and Stipe will happen next. Not sure how he keeps Stipe on the sideline for nearly 3 years though.
