No, BJ beat Hughes back in '04 for the WW belt and left the UFC for K1. The UFC stripped him of his title and when he came back he lost his #1 title contender bout to GSP and would also lose to Hughes after that for the WW title. BJ won the LW title in '08.

 

The article worded it wrong, Mac is trying to be the first fighter to hold two titles at the same time in the UFC. The only fighter to do so in a major MMA promotion was Hendo.

Some good fights I think. Worth the watch. Ended late because of all the BS commercial breaks, but that's the price we pay for it not being a PPV event.

UFC Fight Night was a great card from top to bottom. The main and co-main were wars. Cote's & Herman's finishes were things of beauty. I'm not excited about the announcement of the upcoming coaches for TUF.

 

Great Fight Night. Cruz is baaaaccckkkkk!!! Damn he was fast and effective. Dildoshaw was so frustrated. I would of been to...Cruz is quick and his side step punch to your face was crazy. Great battle.

Herman made me happy with that win. Cote looked good again so that was a plus. Mitrione got fucked with the damn eye pokes....gettin real real sick of the eye poking shit (accidental or NOT)...shit sucks.

For TJ to think he won that fight was bullshit. Just because you hold the belt and think "oh it's going to decision so I automatically keep my belt" is ridiculous. Yeah he was charging the whole time and being aggressive but if you can't do anything with that then you're fucked. Kind of like takedowns (speakings, Cruz took Dildo down like 4 or 5 times) but if you take a guy down just to score late points, but can't do anything within 30 seconds of that takedown then I think you should lose the takedown points. It's bullshit that when a fight is heading for a decision so a fighter says "oh quick takedown for points and I win".....NO!

Good fights all the way around and the Jan 30 fights is gonna be badass. I've been a Rumble Johnson fan since day one. I also like Ryan Bader alot and always root for him......but I hope Johnson gets the win in a battle.

Yeah... those eye pokes were bullshit. Something has to be done about that. I know it's a touchy subject, but they have to address it somehow.

 

I was trying to finger out how they could address the issue......I don't see a way. Having full fingers but not a full glove you'd STILL make grappling a pain in the ass. I understand Thai fighters having there hands open while they square up but damn the eye pokes!!!!!!!!

Good God Conor

I'll say it again...I've been a fan of Conors since hearing about him thru the grapevine years back and watching his fights thru social media. Before he was ever on tv. I know this shit is gonna fuel more hate from people but I LOVE THE BASTARD (Yes i'm Irish ) but anyways.....you'll see and hear interviews that Conor just does this shit as part of his fight game. Behind the scenes , folks say he's a giving, easy going nice dude. After watching this video in it's entirety yesterday, I would say he would of gotten under my skin real real bad. So.......this part of his fight game is fuckin strong!!!!
