Was driving up to sycamore last night with a friend of mine when all of a sudden out of the corner of my left eye, i saw a deer jump out. had to slam the brakes and turned sharply to the left, nearly missing the deer. almost had a heart attack and my arms and chest locked up. so close and if i didnt react, i would be waiting for my truck to be repaired.

scary experience to say the least.

Glad you're ok man, but you might wanna reconsider such evasive actions with a taco... unless you got a x-runner lol. Coming back from Vegas I had that happen to me in my lowered G35, pure reaction I cut it, pulled the e-brake and clutch in, released e-brake, downshifted, released and throttled out. It was awesomely fun and scary at 65mph and all reaction, 90degree twist.

Deer in AZ, who would have thought? :D Seriously there's a lot though in the mountains, even some of the desert tucson mountains.

Its great that no one got hurt but I have already made up my mind I am nailing any deer that comes in my path. Tacos are the most nimble vehicles at higher speeds and if you wreck your truck insurance will not cover anything. Hit a deer, you don't put anyone but your self at risk and insurance covers it

ya no kidding but still avoiding the situation made me feel at ease, i had just seconds to react, plus the risk factors of wrecking. out here we have dry weather, mostly now and the roads stick to the tires on dry pavement roads better from our heat factors. in more slick wet conditions, i wouldn't think twice about hitting a deer. hear that about wrecking vs hitting the deer. makes you think about the situation.

Very true. I just glad it worked out for you and your taco! Good job thinking in the crunch time (pun pathetically intended)!

thanks ya was thinking well it could have been worse, truck in shop, front end smashed in, blood and carcas smashed up the grill, smashed window or tires blown and not to say possible air bag inflation if hit at right angle. those elks slam hard when hit at hwy speeds from what ive seen and heard. well would have been like, elk dinner anyone? go grab your cutting tools. heh heh
