This is a very good modification. thanks for sharing it. As a first time owner of Tacoma, I'm frustrated that the outlet isn't already always on from the factory. It's something I took for granted when I bought my SR5 last month.

This is a very helpful forum.

Do you happen to have the relay schematic? Im assuming this mod is just connecting input to output and not energizing the relay, right? I hope so cause I already did it:D

I want to do the same mod for the cigarette lighter 12V outlet. Does anybody know where to find that relay on a 3rd gen? For 2nd gen there are numerous instructions pointing to a relay on the main fuse panel under the hood, but I cannot find anything similar for 3rd gen.

    Hi guys,

I need help desperately after doing this mod. My truck won't start now. I don't think I did anything wrong, but now, nothing happens when I press the start/stop button... The center of the dashboard tells me that the door is open and there's interior lighting but nothing else. Everything seems normal expect the push button doesn't do anything. I've tested every fuse in the fuse box and other the hood, but they are all fine.

I've reversed the mod, hoping to fix the issue. Still nothing.

If someone could with electrical knowledge could chime in to give me an idea of what to look for...

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
I'd be interested in knowing this, too. This is a fantastic mod, however I'm not particularly fond of the idea of emptying the entire contents of my center console every time I need to charge my phone at work. I don't understand why they would put the plugs at the very bottom, instead of closer to the top.

I have a console tray that plugs into the outlet and has 2 USB outlets in it on top. I love it!
