I have a 2018 Tacoma and would like to make the 12V power port inside the center console stay on all the time (rather than being switched on as an 'accessory'). Does anyone have an easy way to do this. I was looking at a wiring diagram for an earlier year and there appeared to be a relay for one of the ports (and nothing else) that is switched by the accessory circuit. I thought I could pull the relay and jumper the contacts. In my vehicle, I cannot find any relays that appear to have anything to do with the power ports (at least not obvious from the cryptic descriptions on the relay/fuse box lid).

    Ideas appreciated. Thanks.

This thread has pretty good instructions on how to do it.

Honestly it seems a little too complicated for me. When I do this I may just run a separate 12v wire from the fusebox instead.

Side note, the search function on the forum works pretty well. If you just select Search This Thread Only when you’re in 3rd Gen Forum and it will filter out the posts from 1st/2nd gen forums.

There's a gazillion 12v sockets you can buy on the zon and just wire straight to the battery/fuse block. I'm gonna go that route too. Way easier

Is there a fuse for the cig lighter only? If so you can simply remove that fuse and put one of those “add a fuse” things in and connect a constant power to one of the connectors of the fuse you removed. The side that goes to the cig lighter, not the power side obviously.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I was hoping for a solution that didn't involve running wires as I would not want them to show and I know how much fun it is to dis-assemble things like the center console. Thanks
djembefola for pointing me to the other thread. I should have thought of doing a search but I do not spend a lot of time on forums and it did not occur to me. That thread was exactly what I was hoping to do based on the wiring diagram I had found. My problem was that I didn't know where the relay was. I have an old iphone that I use as a music player (it stays on all the time) and I don't drive quite enough to keep it charged.
