Am I alone in liking the OR/Sport grille in its stock form?

I detest chrome. It's not the design, size, etc that I don't like about the stock TRD OR grill, it's simply the chrome. The SR5 grill or plastidip was my plan before the Pro grill came into the equation.

The stock grill was ok, but I like the plasti dipped version better. The center is actually black chrome, according to the sticker on the back of mine when I was plasti-dipping. I left the emblem and logo chrome, it ties in with the wheels, door badges and bumper caps without being overwhelming. A $5 can of plasti dip is what I was willing to spend, not $300+ for a stupid grill. But everybody has different taste.......I remember when chrome was the popular choice, not blacking everything out!

    Nope you are not alone:cheers:
I really don't mind the stock grille. The more I see the Pro Grille the less I want one. Or every time I think I do I look at the price and opt out, so the stock one will stay for a while.

MUCH bigger fish to fry than what a front grill looks like - but hey that is only my opinion :crapstorm: Of course I have spent the time to comment LOL:bananadead:

LOL I'm just in for the memes

but honestly the chrome accents were the first things to go on my truck. Dipped my grille and badges right away. Looks way better.

I like mine just fine. Ive seen people that plastidip it and then from a distance it looks like the SR5 grill...not into it. Besides...I got a full set of aluminum skid plates, and Im looking at doing clear anodization to keep the raw polished metal look...And theyd tie into the color of the grill that way.

In the minority here on this one. I've got MGM and I don't think it looks bad against the grey. To each their own.

Not going to lie, I was almost hoping that no one would agree with me so I could use the line "From what has been observed here, it is fair of me to say that in TacomaWorld, the cheese stands alone."

    Plot Foiled.

The grill and front end is probably the main thing that prevents me from buying a Turd Gen. Sorry, in my opinion it's hideous - like Nissan Juke, AMC Pacer and Pontiac Aztek hideous.

I was at the dealership a few months back and there were six 3rd gens lined up perfectly - from the side view along how they were lined up, and along the front view it was almost comical to look at them. Wish I would have got a pic.

If the cheese grader portion of the grill was a true gun metal gray it wouldn't look so bad. The problem is, it's so smooth and shiny it's distracting. If Toyota had given it a matte finish I would have tolerated it better. But they didn't, so I'm out 400 bucks.

I'm not in a 3rd gen, but personally I don't like the cheese grater grille.

looks good on certain colors and trim options. I like it on my SSM and most other colors. However, if I had an OR QS, I would be saving pennies for the Pro grille and black rims. Truth is, I did not even like the QS until I seen it with Pro grille and black rims......game changer. Love the pro grille, but I can live with what I got and the extra $500.00 in my pocket.

I don't mind the grille as far as design goes, just way too much chrome. Looked like a young kid with a mouthful of braces. I dipped
mine and left the bezel and badge chrome to tie in with the rest of the truck.
