this is what i had in mind,im unsure about a compact 8in sub  am i doing this right? i sure would like your 2 cents on this and dollars are welcome too

I would say don't do the power pack. If you're going to get an amp get a REAL amp that makes power. The Focal set is pretty nice. They are a very efficient speaker set so you don't need as much power to make them sound nice. Basically, they work well with limited power (but will still accept high power).

I would tell you to get the headunit installed and the speakers. Then see if you feel like you need an amp. I would imagine you'll be fine as is. My recommendation though would be to install sound deadener in the front doors. Whatever you WOULD have spent on that little amp put it into sound deadener and it will make the midbass from the speakers really shine.

There have been a lot of guys who have installed speakers in the back doors but from who iv talked to it's not really worth it. If I was to do a build over again I would buy a 5 channel amp so I could do sub and speakers. The focals you choice are a great set of speakers but you do want to amp them, if you don't your not getting what you paid for.

so the pioneer 3500 went in sunday, what a difference it made right out of the box,so far im loving it....the harness was all soldered and shrinktube,i also did the relay bypass but it started clicking loud like a mad beast  so it came off and now waiting for the microbypass to shows up..i think the xm unit will go in also at some point..the mic was tricky fishing it but ended up above the steering colar..doing installs in the cold 16 degrees is not easy...so the speakers and deadning will wait till it warms up,at this rate maybe by aug :D

Yeah definitely wait till it's warm (or you have a warm garage) to do the deadener. It will get very stiff if it's cold. Make sure you clean the surface of the door with isopropyl alcohol before you try and stick anything to it.
