    This is what it said

Hello. I have a 2005 Tacoma and believe I qualify for the frame replacement program and am hoping you all will be able to help keep my truck on the road. My truck was in for service in 2016 and the warranty extension program had just ended. I honestly feel it was so close to the cut-off that I should have been given a hair of grace. The repair wasn't done and 4 years later my frame is getting worse and I fear that soon it will be unsafe to drive without risking my life and others and can't afford a proper repair. I was also recently informed there was a second Warrenty Extension Program in 2017 in which my truck would have qualified but I wasn't notified. I feel a bit shorted by Toyota that my truck was in for service and it was noted that the frame had holes in it and all around the date I was in, there were recalls on the frame. I truly don't want to see this truck end up in a salvage yard and I really hope you all see that my truck deserves a hair of slack to keep it on the road for many years to come. Thank You

That kind of reads that the truck was yours all along.

Don't do that. Be honest about it..it's not like they won't know if they do a history search

It doesn't matter what state you're in. If the frame meets the criterion for replacement - a 10 mm hole - you get a new frame. It doesn't matter if it was coated with CRC or not. It doesn't matter. None of that matters. The fact is, your frame was inspected at a dealer in 2016 and had a more than qualifying hole in it, and should have gotten a new frame then and there. You have documentation for this. Don't let them confuse you with talk about extended warrantees and whatnot. Nothing to do with that. It's the legal settlement of a class action lawsuit, and you're entitled. This is worth a lot of $$$ to you - make some noise and get 'er done!

This will be my last word on the matter - the ball is in your court. Go for it!

Sorry but that's what I don't agree with. I wish you were right but I just don't see it. The "extended warranty" went from 04-Mar 2016. It was at toyota Nov 2016. The settlement went from 2017-2019 so it's super unfortunate but techincally (if I understand this correctly) they had no obligation to repair it when they had it

Gah! I missed the 2016 extended warrantee. A year later I qualified for the settlement. They didn't have an obligation then, they do now. The condition was documented at a dealer in 2016, within the 12 years. It doesn't matter that the settlement hadn't happened yet. Chin up man! Your truck was covered by the settlement. It is documented that it qualified. It doesn't matter that it was inspected before the settlement. I think you have a good case - don't just give up!

And that's my final word on the matter ;-)

If your frame had a qualifying hole in it in Nov 2016, then logic would tell you that it also had a qualifying hole from 2017-2019. It is driving me absolutely batshit crazy to read your posts in which you are trying to convince yourself not to pursue a free frame that it seems pretty clear you are entitled to. The letter you wrote was super weak and you should have just stuck to the facts (and referenced a settlement and not a warranty). Which is what you should do in any future communications with Toyota. Stay factual, press them hard, be confident, and accept nothing less than a new frame. Trying to get them to feel sorry for you is not your strongest move.

I really do apologize that I'm driving you crazy. Trust me, I want a frame replacement! I'm super bummed that I'm even in this situation. I just hadn't understood how I had a case but now I see your guys' points and I will push that and not stretch the truth/lie and keep you guys updated. Even if that means further driving you all insane... for which I apologize

I read something not long ago about a guy in Canada had frame issues and dealership A would not replace it but dealership B did. Call around.

After being on the line with toyota for 50 minutes, I was finally put on the phone with one of their higher ups who declined my request for repair on my frame. I was honest. Said I'd had the truck for a few weeks, pointed out the repair that was done in 2016 but he said since everything has expired, there is nothing they could do. I guess I can call them again another day or I can try calling a few dealerships and hope for the best
