Amazon hiring, are you desperate?

I worked in Nevada over 11 years before retiring over 18 months ago, commuting once a week from Plumas Co. There were temp employees working where I worked who had worked for Amazon as temp employees. Don't know if working conditions are the same everywhere or that's what it's like working in a warehouse, but they said it was hot there in the summer and they worked you pretty hard, hustling all the time. Heard on the TV the other night that Amazon was hiring in wine country, can't remember now where.

theres a new distribution warehouse in Vacaville off 505 now. They had a huge hiring surge a few weeks ago.

People on unemployment need work. Most anything is better than being on the dole.

 

I agree, been there for a short time over 30 years ago. Worked short days, 7 days a week for six months without a day off.

Seen or heard something a few days ago, Amazon, Walmart, Target, others will be affecting retail stores more, shop from home. Maybe more jobs for UPS, FedEx.

I see Amazon made the news, some employees have to punch in early to work in another area of the large building they work in. When working their 10 hour shift, not provided an additional break or paid for o/t.

you're illuminating subpar working conditions from a mega company? or are you just noting Amazon is hiring?

 

They just opened a big distro center in Kent, WA. Drove by there not too long ago and the parking lot was packed. They do a lot of shipping from there with their own carrier too. Still heard ads about working there on the radio though.

 

Yea you can work for Amazon as a delivery driver in your own vehicle. There is one fella who strictly works our area and his truck is always packed for deliveries

 

Letting folks know that conditions are not great. If you need the work, no big deal. Been there, done that.
Delivery people may be independent. Had a video shot also the other night of a lady taking a dump in a person's driveway after making her stop. She was canned after that, don't know where them and usps or ups, etc. folks do their thing.

Wow that's something I've never thought about and I worked at a UPS store once upon a time. Where do they normally go.

 

Don't know, out in the country they could pull out in a wide spot. you need to drink so much water per day to be healthy, wonder what they do in summer?

stop at a local grocery, fast food, construction site.

 

we have an open bathroom policy here at our office. the FedEx lady just took care of business..we dont even blink an eye..

i bet every business feels the same way we do.

 

i bet she grabbed a few chocolate chip cookies as well.
