What size amp should i be running with just one 8" JL? the guy at the local audio store said 1250 but my friend is running a 800 on his one 10" so that didnt make sense to me.

    Thanks in advance,
    Garrett

    What model JL 8"?

They (JL 8" woofer recommended power ratings) range from 150 to 500 Watts RMS before thermal overload. More RMS power than that risks woofer damage.

I suggest reviewing the JL Audio recommended values at their website. JL is one of the few OEMs not given to a lot of marketing BS like many of their competitors (and most definitely the guy at your local store).

SwingCase, driver side. PVC Bike rack. Aftermarket stereo.
I am guessing the guy at the store recommended a 250/1, or the likes. If that is the case, probably a good choice.

    Otherwise, what Lbridges said!

Good critical thinking, I hadn't even considered a "typo" and jumped straight to a BS sort of thing. Something like 1250 "Peak" watts, but you know, with a 10 amp fuse.
