After owning two tacomas, I've finally decided to say goodbye. They have been awesome, reliable, capable, and just all around great trucks for me. But, I wanted more room and with some of the newer trucks getting better mileage than the Tacoma I started looking around.
    Sadly, I didn't even consider a Tundra.

Ended up with a 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel.

Loving it so far. Hopefully it maintains a long reliable life...we'll see...

Good luck with the new rig man, it seems to be hit or miss with Dodge trucks. I know people who have zero problems and I know others that have a shit load of issues.

    Bunch of stuff
First off congratulations! Back in Dec 19 2012 sold my 2010 dbl cab trd sport for the same reasons and same day bought 2012 1500 Dodge Ram sport crew cab hemi 4x4. Fully loaded, l installed rough country 4" lift one month later, exhaust, custom tune, etc. I was really convinced that the Eco mode was gonna save me gas and extra space for passengers etc....year later gas goes up, I was spending bout 100 every four days and I had to pump 89 or 91 bc of the damn notorious hemi ticks. The tune did nothing for the Eco mode. Truck was always trying to figure out if to run on 4 or 8 cyl. Drove to Laughlin from LA and barely made it on gas and I wasn't even hauling or loaded. Anyways don't mean to trash talk dodge,It was nice truck don't get me wrong. Traded it in 3/14 for a Honda Accord and two weeks ago I just sold the accord and bought 2015 dbl cab 4x4 off road... I really missed the Tacoma. Should have never sold my 2010 but you live n learn. Good luck with the truck.

Yeah I hear ya. I know there is a risk over the Tacoma. My first truck was a 95 Ram 2500. Bought is used with about 90k on it, and the tranny died on the way home from the lot. I'm ok with giving it a chance.

Thanks! There's a reason I didn't get the hemi! So far, I've got about 200 miles on the clock since Sunday. All city, and commuting daily 2x daily up and over a canyon, average MPG is just about 23.

Best of luck man! I too owned a dodge (I kept my 99 4Runner though) it caused me fits and handfuls of cash. Will never go down that road again. That said I understand the full size thing. Second kid on the way here, the next truck will be a diesel tundra (I hope 2017). If not a gas aspirated tundra. I'm keeping my Tacoma though. Suckers going to be my hunting and man camping rig beyond 500k!

I have two kids in car seats. That is mainly what brought this on. I really wish the Tundra had a more efficient engine; when that occurs things will likely change for me.

Yea I get it, luckily I work 6 miles round trip from my house so I can get away with it.

I do really hope you don't have any of the issues I had with mine! Good looking trucks for sure, and I always loved the cabs and cab space in them!

    An update if anyone cares.

    Issues so far:
Broken plastic clip behind e-brake handle
Plastic wrap on exterior driver door got a wrinkle in it.
Auto-up feature of driver window stopped working
    Still averaging 23mpg

Otherwise, all good. Still waiting for a more efficient Tundra to switch to.

    Good day

I did the same thing a few years back. You won't find any thing more comfortable for sure. I loved the dodge, I hated the problems. Once every other month it would throw a CEL. But for sitting in traffic or pulling houses down you can't beat it.

Just remember off road, it weighs alot more.
