Is there a way to upgrade the 2019 Infotanment system to support Android Auto?

Odd no one answered you for almost a year.
I just got a 2020 TRD Sport and Android Auto worked without any modifications. I could use bluetooth or a USB cable to connect. The USB offered better sound quality.

I believe Android Auto did not get put in till 2020.

My 2018 TRD OF did not have it with the JBL system. I did purchase an aftermarket setup to add AA to the OEM headunit. It uses the rearview camera input. Just pulled it out and installed a Pioneer HU with AA already built in.

Dennis....By any chance did you try to play Ipod (nano) content via the usb media port ? I have a 2020 SX...It worked great for 2 weeks. Even cover art showed up. Then it quit. Just curious. Ron

I believe I read that it needs a new harness and you can pay like $30 for them to send it alongside the HU.

These are also on Amazon and it seems their store is a bit more accessible for this request. Also there is a newer android 10 version but only on their Chinese website, not amazon yet..

Sorry Ron I have not tried it. I did put 8GB of music on a thumbdrive and it played. No artwork and selecting isn't easy.
