Here's the rundown: 2008 AC TRD Sport, AT, 116K, BFG A/T's, otherwise pretty much stock.

Odd rattling/clunking/light thudding coming from the passenger side front wheel well when traveling over a series of small bumps(small potholes, not big enough to swallow the entire wheel, etc.).

I've checked out everything I know to check:
    -Front bumper is snug
-wheel bearings dont seem to have any play when that side of the vehicle is jacked up
-brake pads have the spring and are snug in the caliper.
    -radiator bushings seem fine
-cab bushings flex very little when I prybar in between the cab & frame tab where they mount.
-no odd creaks/squeaks/clicks that would lead me to think it might be control arm bushings.
-nothing seemingly loose in he engine bay.
-plastic splash guard in front of the wheel(wheel well) is pretty snug...also doesn't weigh enough to have the depth of sound I'm hearing.
-no noticeable slop in ball joint

My Diagnosis: I just need new shocks(mine are OEM), then go from there.

Anyone who's got anything to add, at all, I'm all ears(eyes).

It's not the cat heat shield, good call, though. That's more of a "sheetmetal rattle" sound.

I do have a swaybar, I pulled on the bolts with a combo wrench yesterday and they are tight. I'm debating removing the swaybar and taking it for a test drive.

I know you listed them already, but I had a similar clunking over braking bumps, but only below 40 degrees outside air temp. Ended up being cab mounts. This was when my '05 was still less than a year old. Haven't heard it since they were replaced.

Everything on the exhaust tight/not hitting anything?

I hear ya, those are definitely on the list of things to replace "just because." Maybe I will loosen the nut on that busing and take it for a drive. If it's related, it should have some effect on the sound.

I would suggest you have someone drive the truck in a bumpy parking lot that will repeatably produce the sound. You stand outside to the side and listen as the truck slowly passes by. You will hear the side and the source of the rattle. We just went through this on a VW and found the aftermarket brake pad ears were very loose in the caliper. It sounded like the front end was falling out. We replaced the pads with VW oem pads verified by vin number. All rattles completely gone.

If you lightly apply the brakes and the noise stops you have verified the source.
