I need to order these myself. Is there any reason you ordered the harness as well as the resistor? I would have just ordered the resistor alone otherwise...

Reading through the millions of threads on this topic, I decided that the connector itself was probably the main problem - not the resistor. However, I was experiencing various and intermittent problems that met the criteria for both. I knew for a fact that the connector was overheating. I wasn't 100% sure if the resistor was failing, but for the relatively cheap cost, I figured I'd just do it all at once and try to take care of the problem in a single pass.

    So far its worked great!

Did you ever replace these items? If so, how did it work for you?

The fix is already known. Get a new connector and splice it in along with the new resistor pack.

I know. I've done it already. I was just seeing if j.d. ever ordered the parts and fixed it.

I replaced my resistor over the weekend, however I did not have time to replace the connector. I would like to get around to replacing the connector next weekend if possible - does anybody foresee any issues with only replacing the resistor? My connector had the typical burn-marks on the one port, however it wasn't overly severe. Hopefully it works for my road-trip to Kentucky and Tennessee coming up!

I hate to muddy the waters in this thread but earlier this year I replaced both parts IAW the TSB and the same problem is now back!

That sucks, man. Are you just going to re-do the fix?

Actually, after troubleshooting it further, I discovered that the fan motor would start running (very slowly) if I hit it with my hand. In replaced the motor with the newer part no. And it works fine now. The new harness did not have any burned marks so it's all good now

I did mine this weekend. Easy fix and everything works great now. Your resistor actually looks good compared to mine. My resistor looked rough with some of the green coating flaked off. My connector was burnt up as well.
Thanks Tacomaworld for a cheap fix to my AC problem.

I'm going down this road currently. Mine seems similar but different to many other stories that I've read.

Scenario: fan either works or it doesn't.

TL;DR: I replaced the resistor and connection harness and it still either works or it doesn't.

I first noticed the fan speed would "flicker" and momentarily stop blowing. This was very inconsistent at first. I researched it and found several people who said they had the same thing that was fixed by replacing the resistor. I never replaced it because it worked and I could live it because it would kick back on before the air fully stopped blowing.

Fast forward to a few months ago and the fan stopped blowing all together. Then it would work (all speeds). Then it would stop again, then it would work again. So I figured, ok, I've got a loose connection or something is going on with that resistor. Ordered the replacement resistor and updated (square) harness. I opted to crimp the connections as getting the soldering iron in there would be a PITA. New resistor and harness worked beautifully for about 2 days. (FWIW, the old harness did not have any discoloration that is so common.

So I don't think it is the resistor, as the new one exhibits the same behavior as the one that was replaced.

Pulled the cabin air filter and it was pretty gross. It was replaced about 10 or 15k ago, so was surprised at how dirty. Used the shopvac to get the big debris out of it and also gave a quick vacuum to the blower motor. Shopvac hose would only get to the opening for the filter, not actually inside. I didn't see or hear anything get picked up, but figured it was worth a try.

Reinstalled the cabin filter and turned the ignition to "on" and the fan started blowing as expected. At this point, I'm thinking it is either the actual switch (unlikely) or the blower motor itself (more likely). I haven't found any info on how to test the connectors at the blower motor to make sure they are working, but that's where I'm at.
