So the wife and I are looking into moving up to Denver from the springs so she can be a bit closer to work (and I hate the springs :poking:)....

I really haven't spent much time in or around Denver so I thought I would just ask you guys. :typing:

Question is, what are some nice areas within about an hour from DIA? I was thinking about looking around Loveland/Greely/Longmont. Are those areas alright? I really don't want to move to another ghetto. Also, I am thinking North/Northwest of the airport.

    Thanks!

Loveland, Greeley and Longmont are all very nice and rapidly growing. Longmont is damn near connected to Boulder. Greeley is sprawl to the East with tornado potential. If I had to choose, I'd move to Loveland with no hesitation.

Yeah I almost got stuck working out in Sterling several years ago, and that was too close to Nebraska for my liking... Glad that one fell through.

    Really?

Phort Cee is a bit more crowded, but the restaurant / bar/ downtown scene is much better. Loveland's too crowded for what it has.
I'm like, a mile from Big Beaver Brewing on the West side of town.

Erie, Longmont, Firestone, Dacono, Johnstown are pretty swell. Where do the wife work? Is she in Denver metro area?

Ahh gotcha, thought that was the DIA reference but I didn't want to assume.

One question, are you looking for larger town living or smaller town living?

Either way to be honest, either somewhere out of town, or in town with a good sized yard for the dogs. Also looking to buy a house, not an apartment or anything.

Depending what your price range is, Firestone, Erie and Dacono are nice little towns, all have the hip main streets with restaurants and shops, and all within 40 minutes of DIA. Erie is more "up and coming" than the others so the prices of the houses there seem to be a little higher depending what you are looking for, the west side of I-25 seems to always do that to housing.

I currently live in Erie. It’s a smaller town that is growing very fast. A lot of housing developments are going up around me. My wife and I are moving to superior to be in closer proximity to shopping, boulder, and the mountains. Superior / Louisville is very nice, concienently locsted, and hot the ghetto. Lol.
