Ok got a 2017 trd or. Currently on oem suspension and a readilift kit. Shocks are wearing out and starting to get some unwanted bounce. So I’m going to remove front spacers and want to do a proper lift. I drive 95% roads and construction sites. 5% off-road or less.

looking at a few options. But want best onroad ride and comfort. But don’t want to spend king type money. So looking at the following options

    ome kit
    Bilstein 6112/5160
    Falcons
    Fox 2.0’s with aal
    Dobinson?

are any of these better for my daily driver, or am I looking totally wrong direction? Want comfort most but still capable

    I now await your wisdom

Spend the money. Then your third discounted lift won’t be necessary. You care about ride and performance, vs mall crawl looks, that actually means good engineering and parts not available at Walmart.

how do these compare? I’m not overly familiar with them? I’ve seen where people hint at they are rebadged bilsteins, any truth to that?

I hesitate to recommend a specific setup because my “feel for the road” may be different, but I went to a meet and drove a few lifted trucks in Kings. They felt a little “off” to me in aggressive cornering. So I worked with @Toytec Lifts and took their advice on a digressive shock. I also did not intend on maxing out (crank everything to its max) settings to really keep performance handling optimized, so I opted for a very adjustable system. Lastly I wanted bad ass high speed rough terrain performance so I chose a system designed to take abuse.
For me, my Icon8 was more than I intended to spend and the result was better than I expected. As you have learned what you don’t like, now filling in one or more of those with an improved next step is a very decent approach. I’d just made my initial comments as first impression you were looking for a huge leap in capabilities with only a minor step in cost.

Gotcha, I want an upgrade but realistically high end icon/King/etc would be a waste on me as I don’t really have time to go out and stretch its legs very often. Find myself going to lots of kid activities.

I had the toytec boss 2.0 before I went to fox, it's a great kit, I just wanted more adjustability offroad so I went to fox, call the guys at toytec they'll get you set up

Mine was not the aluma series just boss 2.0 with 650 springs, ride was good, really I just wanted to see if the higher end of shocks was as good as everyone says, on the toytec I would recommend 600 springs if you're not going to be adding much weight up front, I put @ 20,000 miles on them & there still in great shape

I’m now between the toytec and fox. Do you like the fox better?

For offroad- yes, for onroad its either or. One thing to keep in mind is that I spent 3x more on my fox set up than I did my toytec, so if you're not going to spend a lot time offroad and budget matters toytec is a great choice, I'd like to also say on that note the toytec was very good offroad and at speed was impressive, my fox set up is very plush when I back them all the way off & I have the ability to crank them up if I go to the higher speed stuff.

Looking at the fox 2.0’s vs toytec boss aluma. Price would be within a few bucks of each other.

and also considering fox 2.5’s in front but it adds severa hundred so I may not.

Off-roading is light as it’s mostly construction sites. But like the ability to go to the off-road park occasionally

Honestly you'll be fine either way, 1 thing I liked about the foxs that they push the 600 springs which in my mind = a smoother ride, I'm running 600's now with an aluminum bumper and winch w/synthetic line, pretty happy so far. Also what look are you going for, little high in front, little low. level?

if you're just replacing shocks keep watch on the BST forums. i saw a set of TRD Fox shocks new off a Pro today, and another set, maybe two, in the last week.

Want to keep about same height as this. But I’ll remove the front spacer. I’ll keep read block if I do fox but aal if I do toytec

does anyone know who makes the coil over for toytec?

Wait long enough and you’ll have people telling you each option is the best choice. Good luck to you, choosing suspension is like going through a wormhole. And will likely leave you light in the wallet
