    This will NOT turn on the chime. Mine was turned off in my '07 when I got it, I didn't even know there was supposed to be a chime until they gave me a '08 as a loaner. I've had my battery disconnected several time and still do not have a chime.

    It depends on if the setting is stored in volatile memory or not. I'm guessing the setting doesn't reset. My method is easy enough.

    Oh, and OP - if you haven't checked under the seat to make sure all the connections are connected, do so.

    Ok...heres the latest. I have followed everyones suggestions, checked the cables under seat and also went to the dealer I bought the truck from. I was told that the 05 does not have a chime like most do...someone with an 07 said that theirs never did also...so looks like I may have to just move on to something else....thank you all for your help it has been great.
