I just called the Toyota number (1-800-331-4331). The lady was friendly and heard my case. She is going to forward the info to the local rep who should be in contact within the next three days. We'll see what happens.

I have spent hours educating myself on this TSB spring issue here on TW, I can now tell you my personal experience. First of all TW should be mandatory for all Taco owners!!! Spread the word....This forum is awesome!!!:D:D Thanks to longbow for leading me towards the TSB issue:cool:
I called the 1800# 2 times and was blown off both times,:sorry: told to go see the friendly dealer...anyone that got help on the 1800# did get the one good operator. Instead of continuing to call the number I decided to take the dignified and educated approach with the dealer. They were very receptive to the fact that Toyota has a problem and that the old stock numbers on the TSB that were being replaced were stamped right across the top of my springs. Bottom line, if you go to the dealer, you can tell them that you understand that the '08 or your model is not on the TSB, but your SPRING IS on the TSB. Just make sure the number on top of the spring is the same as the 'previous part number' on the TSB.(the 'f' or 'g' did not come into play on mine, fyi mine is the 'f') The service manager "interviewed' me to be sure I wanted this done. Note: if you go this route you better be ready to stand your ground and be well educated on the subject! Funny how everyone knows who you are real quick when you step out of the box. He also explained there was no reversing this without me paying for it. Here is the catch that I have not heard anyone else on TW say....he told me that Toyota told him the springs would be thinner and the ride would also be softer. Even if that is the case, as we talked, we figured the purpose of the 4th spring would serve kindof as an overload spring, therefore reducing the possibilty of hitting the bump stops and maybe even explaining why most have said the ride is even better after the TSB.
Parts are on order, and after some discussion in the 'managers office' my dealership is going to make it right. I will be doing some before and after measuring because the manager told me this would not affect the ride height.(not to big a deal except I will want to level the truck eventually) You all said it will raise it for a short time then settle back down. I think the owners committee has my vote on this one....;)

    TACOMA WORLD IS THE GREATEST!!!:bananadance:
yeah I'm yelling and I'll yell as loud as I can and tell everyone I can. Thanks to all that has contributed!

well the dealer pretty much blew me off on my 08 when i brought up this issue, so i called the 800 number number, told them the problem and they said the dealer would call me within 3 days. the dealer called today , we discussed the issue and he said he was going to investigate the tsb and consult with toyota to see if they would cover it. He said he would call me back and never did, imagine that!! we will see if he calls tomorrw. i'll keep you posted. This is such a pain in my a**. i wish they would just fix the damn problem already as im starting to get a little annoyed. and my spring numbers are the ones they are replacing on every other vehicle.

Hardin, just fyi, the dealer got back to me today (I called the 1800 number, talked to the local dealer, and he spoke to the local Toyota rep). Bottom line: they won't cover the truck, just as others predicted.
