Ok truck is 02' taco prerunner and has 3" suspension lift and im currently running 285/75/r16 tires on 16" Mickey thompsons. I'm not liking the tall skinny look, so my goal is To achieve a much wider look. Want to get some 33/13.50 16 to get the wide look. was wondering if these would be ok on my current wheels and will they fit without any rubbing? I am not off roading so keep that in mind.

Also would they look wider if I used same tire but on a set of 15x10's or 12's?

What is the width, backspacing, offset of your current wheels?

My gut feeling is that no matter what the specs, you won't be able to fit 13.5's without some major modifications, like cutting the cab mounts, firewall, etc.

Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
On a first gen you would have to cut and reweld the pinch weld and floorboard. You would then likely need to cut the front bumper valance and remove the full wheelwell plastic and go down to bare metal.

If going with such wide wheels you will want to keep the inner lip from rubbing on the upper control arm.

For that issue you will likely need about 3.625 to 4 inch backspace.

With the remaining 6 inches of wheel sticking out you may have to trim the fenders.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
You will still have to trim to fit 12.5's

Yep, you will rub bad, especially in reverse.

If the guy at the shop said that, make him guarantee they will fit, or they are free :D

See how "sure" he is after that.

on snap, not a fan of the cutting, so what if i stay with the current 285/75 r16"s and throw on some spidertrax wheel spacers to give me the bump out beefy look. will i still have to cut the wells???????

Thought you already ordered tires? And yes, you'll still have to trim a little bit to fit the 285s.

No haven't paid for them they are at a local shop, just trying to weigh all my options before I do this. it's freaking crazy i was trying to get the wide stance look without hacking up the wells. but from what you guys are saying no matter which way i go bigger tires or same tires with spacers im gonna have to cut :(
