Got my new 220 line finally hooked up in the garage along with a 50' extension cord. Laying beads with it set up on 220 is awesome, like a whole new machine.

Did some work on @cynicalrider 's truck today. Burned in a rear diff skid and reinforced his t-case skid with some angle iron.

Found out the hard way that wheel bearings don't last long on these trucks, almost died on the way home from Philly today hauling some steel LOL. Crawled home doing 35 while the truck was making all sorts of crazy noises. Time for some of @nj636 's new hub assemblies! 46k on the stock wheel bearings that must be a new record or something :)

LOL yea thats almost what mine looked like, not quite that bad. But the hub got so hot it melted the speed sensor and the seal.

Did the same replacement on the drivers side for good measure, so now I should be good to go for another 45k LOL

My truck makes so much noise all the time it was hard for me to diagnose it, but now that I think back, the first symptoms I had were that the brake pedal would be mushy sometimes and after I depressed the pedal once it was good until the next time I went to hit the brakes again in which case I had to push the brakes once before I got a good solid pedal. So I basically had to pump the brakes each time I had to stop unless i continually held them down. Thought it was the fluid being low but I checked that and all was good and my brake pads had plenty of meat left. Turns out that was actually the start of the bearing going out, since the wheel would wobble and retract the brake pads away from the rotor and into the caliper. The last time I used the truck I had heard a really loud screech but then it went away, so I just figured a rock got stuck in the dust shield/rotor or something. I really don't drive the truck that much and it is already loud so I didn't really notice any more noise as a result of the bearing failure, until finally it really let go and started grumbling on the highway so I pulled over and found the hub screaming hot. Glad I caught it before it got too much worse.

Wow Ant, glad it didn't lock up on you, and you were able to make it home. You've got a boatload of corrosion for only 46K, and it makes me think that the bearings were damaged by rust. I pulled a hub at 60K and it looked nearly new, even with all the brine they pour on the PA roads.
