Thanks, yeah we hit mostly greens and a blue trail or two. @Redmann was a great trail leader! We had lunch on the trail and got back to camp around 2, I think me, Mark, and Lloyd were one of the last ones to leave haha.

Thanks man. First time leading, wasn't that bad. Just point and shoot I guess.

We'll have to get into some harder trails next time ;)

It was our first time at a place like that and we stuck mainly to greens, although we apparently got off on some atv trails. We had a great time our truck isn't built for the really hard stuff we mainly are just trying to get out with the little camper and explore. It was good meating you maybe we'll see ya down here in Va sometime

I wanted to meet you while we were there as we have spoken in the past but I guess never got the opportunity. Did you stay at the campground?

For sure, I have to at least get a dent or two, I think I might have been the only one who made it the whole weekend without body damage lol

Yeah I was following Mark so not paying any attention to the trail numbers really but some of them definitly got tight at spots! Greens are good if you want to be able to drive home in 1 piece, I'm hoping to get my 4runner project done and then take it easy on this truck. It was nice to meet you as well, your setup is slick!

I would def like to link up next time I'm down that way. I have some relatives that live in Vienna so I'm usually down there a couple times a year.

    That sound reasonable

If you and Joe want to kayak look at the Shenandoah river , Rappahanock, or down further South the New river i think it actually flows South to North. I’m sure there’s more cool places if y’all come down let me know and I can get you in touch with somebody that really does know

Cool, thanks I appreciate it! I'm sure one of us will let ya know in advance before we head down that way! :)

Tonight was expensive night for me. After wheeling at AOAA heard some funky noises in the back of the truck, turns out the OME leafs were compressing so far the shackle was actually bottoming out on the frame. The springs are way past flat and beat. The Dakar leaves treated me well though; think I've had them for going on 7+ years now of nothing but abuse and wheeling along with a heavy rear bumper.

Looks like they do not make the CS047R anymore, so I went with the EL096R with EL46XL AAL and energy suspension bushing kit. My old 3* axle shims from toyotech are also crushed I think they were aluminum. Hoping once the new bushings get here I can get rid of the factory front hanger bolt and replace with a greasable one so that I don't have to worry about the squeaking and seizing up nonsense. Going to get a new set of ubolts for the rear as well. Also ordered moar parts for the diesel :anonymous:

Been shopping for a set of rears for mine. We have been looking at adding a rear bumper with swingout to get the spare out from the bed and free up some space. Plus I have the tongue weight of the camper to add. I haven’t decided between a heavy Dakar pach or a heavy Deaver pack. I have found a deal on a food used set of Deavers, not too many miles on them or abuse. Not quite sure yet which is the best route

Yep, they've treated me pretty well for all the abuse I've given them. If I start messing with spring lengths then I have to adjust shackle flip mount, don't want to go down that rabbit hole at this time. These dakars should last me long enough until it's time to get rid of leaf springs completely and put a real axle under this thing :D

That's true, surprised they haven't just fallen out lol

I've been very happy with the OME. I used to tow with this truck a lot more until I got the f350 and the dakars had no problem handling the weight even with a shackle flip. Towed my tractor and even a car trailer with that 4Runner on it a couple times.

Never had any experience with deaver springs but they seem very overpriced for some bent pieces of metal. I think I'd have a local shop make me a set before I shelled out that kind of money. The Dakar came out to $550 shipped so the price was right for me. If you can get a used set that haven't been beat up it might be worth the gamble, but nobody around here I know has them so I have no real world experience with them, only Internet tales from others. Maybe they are worth it but I know for my shackle flip setup where I placed my hangers with a 4" shackle works great for the Dakar leaf springs and gives me a 45° shackle angle which is right in the sweet spot.

Thanks good food for thought. Yep Deavers are pricey i found a used set from another member who wants to switch to 63’s i don’t believe they have too many miles on them we’ll see

That was pretty quick. I haven’t ordered anything from Headstrong yet but I haven’t had much luck with Wheelers so I’ll have to try them next. Working on the 4 wlr now. After deer season I may go back on the camaro but the truck and camper always seem to come first

I was surprised, basically 2 days to ship a full set of leaves. Wheelers has nice stuff but their shipping policy sucks where they don't calculate the costs til after you check out and it seems like they wait a week to even ship your order after you've placed it, but they do send candy so maybe that makes up for it

I hear you on the projects, I seem to always take on more than I can handle then things just sit for weeks at a time. That camper is slick I'd be tinkering with that all the time if I had one!

Pheasant hunting starts here in a few weeks so that'll keep me busy a few days a week. Trying to mod 3 vehicles at a pop I quickly realize that the costs add up as well as my time, I tend to over-commit :anonymous:

Wtf, you got candy from wheelers? My dust seals and shock bushings must not have met the candy threshold :frusty:
