I got candy each time. Well wife did I’m diabetic. I do happen to have 2 useless sets of extended brake lines in the garage as they screwed it up twice and I gave up on them

On going project for about 17 years now I’ve just kinda lost my enthusiasm for it. I’ve done most everything from interior to motor to most of the paint work. I blew the first motor then the whole thing was stripped to a bare shell. Tewired the whole car and stripped and rebuilt all the front suspension also with a bunch of goodies.

It might just go away in the spring. Free up some garage space

First set none of the ends were correct nor were they longer than stock, second set they sent to replace those I believe 1 end out of the 4 was correct. So useless

Doesn’t look like them but it’s been a while since I’ve seen them. When I redo the rear I’m going to have to do them anyway I guess

I honestly don’t know. It’s detuned for the street so I can run pump gas. Still estimated 700 hp and 650 for torque. Those are estimates. Only running around 9lbs of boost. It’s fun and scares the shit out ofmy wife usually if I crack it

    Nice build
Someone just linked me to this page. I had the same issue with the frame horn, lost the 2 bolts on the driver side. Used a 3 inch bar to span the horns and drilled and welded. No where near as beefy as your job. Now a rock has made it so i have to replace the lower mounts...or live with it :anonymous:

With the dual batteries mounted on the front corner, keep an eye on the fender core above the DS tire. Mine split from the weight of 2 batteries.
I have talked to a few people that have had a hell of a time removing and installing the rear brake lines. I took mine to a shop and watched them wrestle with it. Took 3 people and a lot of swearing.

I've been working on almost the same project. When I took the bumper back off to recoat it I had already made new mounting plates to reinforce the stock location but I extended them all the way down to tie into the lower part of the frame. I had also already made up a set of gussetted tie in brackets for the bumper to the frame.

All these bumpers are a little different. I have the SOS aliminum front bumper (I got it when I had a 4 cyl) My next plan is when I remove the bumper to install a winch I have a piece of 1 1/2" or 1" ,I can't remember , square tubing I want to run from frame to frame rt behind the winch cradle. I'll then drill 2-3 holes through the tubing and craddle and when the bumper is reinstalled it will be bolted to the tube as well as the frame basically doing what you have done in this post. I didn't feel it would hurt reinforcing the front and could deffinately help put more of the "pull" on the frame instead of the aluminum bumper. If you see any flaws in this plan I'm all ears

Damn that thing is sweet! I feel ya on just getting rid of it, I'm sure you'll regret it the day you don't see it in the garage though lol. With that much work into it a car almost becomes a part of you at that point I know I would be sad to see it go but also excited to have room for a new project at the same time.

Thanks you, that looks good! As long as it keeps the frame horns from tearing off it works, I did mine on the fly just making shit up as I went along. It's sad to see how cheap the truck frames are made between the coatings, non boxed portions, and the lack of gussets and reinforcements in key places.

I'll have to check my core support and front fender, the dual batteries have been on there for nearly 5 years now. I'm sure there is some kind of damage lols

Nope that looks good! Only thing I would recommend would be removing the front skidplate and maybe even the radiator to get access to weld the crossbar on. I remember it being a pain in the ass and that's why I ended up using those angle iron uprights since the cross member tube was not able to be moved up high enough to mate up with the front bumper area where the winch mount is.

The SOS design might be different than mine but it was a lot of measuring twice cut once deal to find where the new crossmember would bolt to the bumper. Also I did not slot the new holes so the new crossmember essentially locks the bumper in from being able to move up or down. So I drilled the holes once I was happy with the bumper to fender gap, you want to leave 3/8-1-2" to allow body flex

Thanks, it’s nice to have somebody to bump ideas off. I make my own stuff when I can. Getting other’s input sometimes points out things I haven’t thought of. Now just gotta save up for a winch. I’ll have to a bit more measuring and removing the skid and radiator to make room is a great idea. I guess I have a typical welder’s mentallity and I tend to over build stuff
