I seriously contemplated it haha. I'm going to rip out the interior this week and try and shift the cab back, hard to believe that bolt won't line up by such a small amount but it is what it is.

Well after that disaster, the front body mounts bushings are in. I took apart the interior and got the remainder of the body mount bolts semi-loose, but the bolts are seized in the bushings :bananadead:, so we'll leave them alone until it's time to replace them LOL.

More than one way to skin a cat though, turns out disassembling the entire interior I found a new use for my OEM jack. Used it to push the drivers side core support back a tad by pushing back on the front bumper for leverage, moved just enough to get the damn bolts in. I am thinking that the drivers side core support was probably a little tweaked (1/4" or so) from having the dual batteries in there, and my cab was mounted straight on the rest of the bushings after all. Good news is no sign of any sheet metal or core support cracking.
    IMG_0954.jpg

While the interior is apart, probably a good idea to do a nice spring cleaning which the truck hasn't been vacuumed for several years.

It turns out with the energy suspension bushings the bottom portion of the bushing section are a significantly shorter than the OEM bushings, and the aftermarket bolts I had for the body lift were too long and they did not have enough threads to tighten down the body mount fully. A trip to the hardware store to pick up two 3/8-16x5.5" long grade 8 bolts. From left to right, OEM bolt, 5.5" long bolt, and 6" long bolt installed during the body lift. I'll take care of cleaning up and re-assembling the interior tomorrow then at least the truck will be drivable again.

    IMG_0955.jpg

    IMG_0956.jpg

Old bushings have seen better days so I'm looking forward to the front end not shifting around quite as much.

Installed some trail toy fender trim today, that was painful those little buggers really grab the fender. They won’t be coming off anytime soon.

The fancy fender skirts came in today, I will do an install day with @HomerTaco next weekend!
    IMG_1368.jpg

I got around to fixing my under hood LEDs, I bought a kit years ago from a guy on here and I liked the system. The pin switch that came with the kit was cheap and rusted out fairly quickly so I replaced the pin switch with a waterproof toggle switch mounted on the aux fuse block plate.
    IMG_1385.jpg

Nice to have these functioning again, although Toyotas are pretty damn reliable so I never needed to wrench in the dark yet
    IMG_1388.jpg

Will also be installing a winch disconnect to prevent inadvertent actuation. Happened to Mr. Hunter on here and I read about it a few places it happening so better safe than sorry. There is a fellow on here that sells a $100 bracket but it mounts to the area where my dual batteries are so that won't work, plus I don't have a spare $100 to spend on a $5 piece of metal. Ergo my home made bracket, it will bolt next to the breaker for the aux fuse block. I need to cut and crimp on new connectors for the winch supply line, and trim up this bracket and drill a few more holes to mount it, but happy with how it came out.
    IMG_1384.jpg

This tool is great for smoothing out the edges. Before I'd use to hold the piece and use an angle grinder. This speeds the process up 10 fold and is a little safer (I think?)

They are awesome, I would suggest if you are on the fence about it. Worth their weight in gold.

Some DD maintenance. Bearings were howling. Replaced both rear ones, the passenger side was definitely bad, drivers side was probably due as well. Timken uses NTN bearings, which I believe are the same (or maybe Koyo) as OEM for Honda and Toyota. Noise is now gone, the factory ones lasted 130k

passenger side hub assembly was seized pretty good into the aluminum knuckle. Had to beat it with a sledge.

Side note, these socket organizers are pretty sweet. I stick them to the lift arms and never have to get up to search for a socket back at the box

Damn I knew that some of those magnetic organizers were good for keeping the sockets in place but never thought about it for moving it to the work area... that's pretty sweet.

Waiting on durobumps to come in, truck is almost ready to drive again then I can get the AC fixed. Spent some time cleaning up the front of the shop and remove the silver turd and old cut off IFS crap from the 4runner

Made two pizza peels for loading wood into a brick oven. Apparently the ones my buddy has been using are too thin and have bent on him several times. He should be happy with this setup and will last a good long time.

Going to muck with the trans mount today, then maybe tackle the engine mounts later this week they don't look fun to get to.

Got the trans mount in, hardware provided was lacking a little, the bolts were too short and only one set of washers provided for the crossmember mount. Not a deal breaker, went to the local hardware store to get the right size. Bolt on the left was provided, needed 1/4” longer

    475BFB38-3F73-4496-8286-2737B846E7CE.jpg

it also appears the mount raises the drivetrain up by about 3/8”, my crawlbox mount used to be flush to this plate, I’ll shim it with washers for the time being and next time I have the crossmember down I’ll weld a sandwich plate in there.
    9B285763-5D45-496B-BC98-5255E14EECD2.jpg

Other than those two issues the mount is awesome and beefy as hell compared to the OEM one. Look forward to getting the motor mounts in and going for a test drive.

The trans mount is in. Decided to make the plate for it but not weld it since it won’t offer any additional strength and in case I need to adjust heights later. Had a scrap piece of 1/4” plate laying around that worked perfect.
