the condenser is the easiest to replace I can tell you that, probably the cheapest too haha. The clutch can be checked by measuring the air gap and looking to see if it stays engaged. I would check your pressures before you start replacing anything.

Ok well I'm going to attempt a rear bearing replacement and writeup today to help others in the future suffer through this misery with me. Y'all know misery loves company.

After doing both of mine, it's easily one of my least favorite maintenance items ha.

I went UOL this week for work, had to pick up cold beer so the only option was an ARB in the DD. My new business is going to be called Urban Overland, specializing in parts for dudes with manbuns and skinny jeans. I'm hoping it'll take me to retirement.

2nd side was fun, bent the adapter plate, and the studs are seized in the housing. I ordered a new backing plate to avoid dealing with this any further.

It’s always something with this POS. Like I said after this year I’m looking to upgrade following our trip out west.

nope, not with me. I’d have been better off lighting the axle on fire and calling insurance. At this point the whole axle assembly will be new minus the wheel cylinder and the shaft itself

One or two things modded... Check out the build thread

Might as well change those out too... you know, to keep up the theme of it all.

New bearings, backing plates, studs, retainers, belleville washers, snap rings are installed. Now just to put everything back in the axle housing.

Got the diff armor welded up today while the 3rd member was out. I had this thing sitting around the shop for around 2 years, think @Chux gave it to me LOL
    IMG_2959.jpg

3rd member sealing surface cleaned up
    IMG_2962.jpg

Take note not to fuck with these baffles, I had hit one with the axle shaft and bent it a little bit. It's only held in via a few welded tabs and spring pressure. If it comes loose it will make lots of funky noise.
    IMG_2961.jpg

This is the only RTV I'll use now, the other shit always ends up leaking. Never had any problems with "the right stuff"
    IMG_2963.jpg

    Axle flanges all cleaned up
    IMG_2964.jpg

    New seals and o-rings installed
    IMG_2969.jpg

Both axle shafts installed and torqued. Tomorrow's job is to install the brakes and fill up with diff fluid and I should be good to go. I also trimmed my rust ass ubolts a bit so I can get the rear bump stops set up properly, that'll be next on the list to knock out.
