About a 10 year throwback, back when crawl boxes and FJ cases on 2nd gens were rare and exotic. Hard to believe this truck hasn’t burned down, rolled over, or totally flooded out since then

Not much new here with the truck. Took it out in the state woods the other day for opening day of hunting season, seems to be running well. I ordered some terminal covers for my dual battery setup a while ago and finally got around to installing them. Not that I needed them it's been like this for almost 10 years now but a little extra insulation can't hurt being that these are unfused straight from the battery. I crammed that ML-ACR in there so it's kind of a bitch getting to it, hope a fuse in the engine bay box never blows

Haven't done much work on the truck, but finished up a little house project I had been dragging on. A few weeks ago I picked up a HF generator on sale so been finalizing the power and metering for it. I have it backfeeding through an old welding outlet I used to have in my front garage via a 30 amp breaker to the main panel.
    IMG_3948 (1).jpg

I put in one of those "powerback" monitors to tell me when the offsite power is restored since everything is manual anyway about my setup. I didn't want to invest in the amount of money and complexity for an ATS.
    http://www.reliancecontrols.com/ProductDetail.aspx?THP108

I made a custom little readout down by the panel to monitor each leg of the generator as well. Picked up an indoor UL case from poly enclosures, really nice quality stuff

Cut out the area for the meters and the knockouts
    IMG_4387.jpg

Extended the CT wiring with some 18/5 thermostat wire I had laying aroundIMG_4388.jpg

Fused the inlet with some bussman 1 amp fuses. The feed to here I used 10 AWG wire since it's wired in parallel with the generator breaker. Probably could have gotten away with smaller wiring but didn't want to chance it in case a fault happened upstream of the fuse.
    IMG_4397.jpg

    IMG_4398.jpg

Pretty nice display, one for each split phase. Normally the meters will be off unless my generator is running as I'll manually open the generator inlet breaker.
    IMG_4407.jpg

Here's the setup complete with the deadfront back on. You can see the "powerback" monitor on the upper right side of the panel
    IMG_4403.jpg

Here's a nice boring video of me powering up my house monitoring the kWs, I am a nerd
